LT's dont feel worth it anymore. With the tiny maps, lack of cover and miserable spotting mechanics there's no point bringing a light tank if you wanna win. The French autoloaders might be the only exception. The rest just dont have the impact that is needed to do anything on most maps.

I am all in favor for any and all buffs to light tanks! I hate playing pretty much anything else and a mobility buff/view range buff/DPM buff would be very welcome. 

 

It will not happen, but it would be very welcome indeed.

You seem to be implying that light tanks were great at some point in time.

atleast they were not useless.

 

bigger maps minimum 1,5km side length is what is needed to make them okish again.

how about maps allowing to scout actually? 50% are city maps not allowing it at all combined with battle distances of ~150m best, the rest are corridor maps forcing you into battels at the same ranges, with the exclusion two maps wheee ... scouting here i come :D

The only maps where I question the impact of lights are 600m city maps... looking at you, Ensk. Maybe Himmelsdorf, you're generally better off in a medium on those.

 

A well played light tank is a real pain in the arse but you can't play it like a med... they tend to be even more mobile and harder to spot so you need to use that, use your sight and speed to snipe from unexpected positions, spot and force people out of their spots, bait people into following you so your teammates can fire. If you want to sit somewhere and fire, don't play a light.

 

I'm still loving my RU251 but if I play badly in it, it's just a quick trip back to the garage.

There is more to playing a light tank than just scouting.

Imo, the things that really need buffing are DPM and view range.

I believe light tanks should always have at least 10m higher view range than any other equal tier tank.

The DPM buff so you can actually do something meaningful when flanking - it's not like it can be utilized well at long range anyway with the average accuracy, low pen and pen drop-off that they have now.

When you spot almost the entire enemy team in the first minute but barely get any spotting damage in return while over half your team is shooting the enemy you have to deal damage yourself at some point if you want to win before getting balanced by arty...
