As a Coarse Tanker you will already know that it is folly to play at high tiers like Tier 6 and above.  However, in the unlikely event that you are foolish enough to venture into this snakepit, you need to be aware at all times that you are not a unicum, and what might work for an exceptionally good player will most certainly not work for you.

In terms of equipment, a rammer on any tank that can take it is a no brainer.

For TDs add camo and bino.  The clever boys might make GLD work better than camo, but such advanced tactics are not for you, since you will be far better off sitting in a bush.

For all the others, GLD, optics and spalls are viable choices, with binos in some cases.   A heavy arty/derp target like the TOG ll will benefit from spalls.  A pseudo-sniper like AC4 can use binos.  At this level of the game, vision is king, so do yourself a favour and kit yourself out so that you can spot your Coarse Tanker opposition before they spot you.  Don't bother with GLD on anything with a decent aim time.

And for the Coarse Tanker, Vents are a waste of money.

Wouldn't vents be a prime choice for a Coarse Tanker concidering it's cheap for most tanks?

Not necessarily, because the Coarse Tanker who has embraced his own Coareness plays at tiers IV-VI, and quite often with premium tanks. As a result the Coarse Tanker will be running at a modest silver profit for every match, and is thus not short of silver for buying suitable equipment for his vehicles.

But isn't that modest profit supposed to pay for the premium ammo? How else is a Coarse Tanker supposed to pen the enemy? Learning weak spots and flanking is reserved for the purple players.

The typical Coarse tanker will be a middle-aged bloke in a reasonably well-remunerated job, with only a few hours each week to play WoT, that being one reason why he will never be any good at it.  As such he can easily afford a premium account and would be foolish not to do so.  By avoiding high tiers and with plentiful use of premium tanks the silver will roll in in torrents, regardless of how much gold ammo is used.

Why bother with complicated stuff like weak spots and flanking when pressing 22 will double your own modest skills?
