There are lots of tank proposals/prototypes in WoT. Do these guys have access to military files? I mean I guess most of these files aren't public, especially the Soviet ones. In short: where do they get this many "Objekt"s, "Progetto"s, "VK"s...etc from?

The majority of these blueprints and the like can be found at the  Bovington tank museum and other museums around the world.

If youwatch some of the youtube videos on how the tank data is collected it's actually quite interesting.

Technical drawings?

I believe it's called 'the back of a fag packet'.

SWIM told me that Victor's kid provides ideas for new vehicles on tissues and napkins.

A lot of the one-off tanks or prototypes are in museums like Bovington. I've been there a few times and seen the TOG II, Ram II, T14, Excelsior and Black Prince in person, none of them saw real action and most were just once-off prototypes except for the Ram II. Putting tanks that only existed in ''blueprints'' into the game was a mistake, since what constitutes a blueprint to WG could be a scribble on some toilet roll in a tractor factory.

They actually build around two thousand Ram II's, then decided not to use them for anything other than training because they decided that they did not fit with the supply lines. None of them ever saw combat. There is at least one on display in pretty much every major Canadian city, and even in a lot of smaller towns.

I would like to see a Valiant in the tree.  It is generally regarded as the worst tank ever made

Yeah, I think they pulled the turrets off a load of them and used them as Kangaroo carriers for infantry and those saw some action. The one at Bovington was used as target practice so it's sealed up and a bit mangled

The info card for the Covenanter says it's probably the worst tank ever made in England iirc. The radiator at the driver's knees that scald him as he drives is a masterpiece of engineering
