Now that the meta has been established, this has become quite a corridor map, especially from north spawn. There is too little cover in the middle from the surrounding flanks, especially on north spawn. Also that overpowered climb which gives free shots all across the middle isn't helping, whichever team has tank up there will dominate mid.

I loved it at first, but now not so much, just another corridor map.

'Corridor maps' force players into those corridors, glacier doesn't do that.  Have you tried fighting in the middle?  This map has options for scouting (mid to light up mid/TD locations etc).  TD sniping positions.  Heavy brawling areas.  Hull down locations.  Areas to use gun depression.

Can you draw a map in paint that YOU think would cover all the bases?

How does a map 'become' a corridor map? Translation: You do not have the wisdom to secure the flanks so, as too many do on many maps, you conclude that only the corridors are useful. And then you wonder why there are maps that are literally nothing but corridors.

Its NOT a corridor map if you can shoot from one flank to another flank. Thats why its NOT a corridor map. It might not be properly balanced, but on that i have no meaning.

I believe the OP refers to two areas: the hill road at the south east corner and the carrier wreck at the north west. Those are indeed corridors by design but the road along the K8, J9 and H0 can be flanked from the middle when the enemy pushes up that road. The carrier area is meant for brawling so they have good cover from the middle and from arta. If either side falls, the middle is screwed though.

As far as map design goes in this game and considering WG disabilities in that department I'd say it's a good map. Mines, Province, Abbey and Mountain pass, so yeah!

You can shoot people really easy that are moving up into the middle climb

So don't let them climb up there?

The middle climb is a super risky move, most tanks I have seen go up there get wrecked and if they don't die, they make it up there as 1/2 shots and die shortly afterwards trying to peak someone.

Plus it's only super fast lights and meds that have a chance, normal meds 9/10 will be dead trying it because the other meds are all there waiting to shoot them.

Middle of the map is more than usable, you just have to keep an eye on what is going on and adjust accordingly.

It's a bit like Prohk, middle is important but it needs to work with the other flanks and vice versa. Hardly a corridor map though.

So in effect you are saying that when first introduced it was not a corridor map, but the way players decide to play it makes it into one.

So who is to blame?

Corridor map? Not really. Middle is easy to control form both sides, and one team usually 100% ignores it. And targets you spot there are usually raped by your campers. It's only a corridor because most still think the 0 lane road is vital and sends half the team up there to push it. And still push the HT lane after they lost the aircraft carrier. So that even their own arty can't help them. But that's what? 20% of the map.

I kind of like this map. If you drive a medium with decent gun depression you can play at the central hills and give enemies some bad times.

I don't think this map really even has a meta yet.

I agree, when ever I play it, its impossible to gauge what my team or the opposing team will do. I've seen where 6-7 go middle and try and shoot over the hill, I saw one game where 7 players in lights/meds were battling on the raised aircraft carrier. I haven't played many heavies recently, perhaps they are a bit restricted in placement on that map.

Its one of the better maps due to the lack of meta.

If it gets too much, go park up in one of the hot pools and have a biscuit. Channel your inner arty player.

I quite like this map, but then i play a lot of light tanks so i normally just go for the middle and kill anyone stupid enough to try and get on the carrier right at the start.
Only time i have issues is when the team all yolo one flank and you have no support in the middle.
Now if that happens i'll just fall back and cover the middle and base from the back of whatever flank my team is pushing.

Thanks. Some people think it's clever or witty to say their opinion as bold and crude as they can. I don't! :)
