Back a year or two ago there were some rumours about WG adding the Chieftain into the game (instead of the FV215b). Did they copmletely abandon the plan to add it? Or why did they add S. Conqueror instead of the Chieftain at the first place?

It's British, I gather they don't like anything not Russian, would make an awesome T8 premium, but like the Caernarvon AX probably we will never see it.

It is in the game but you can't have it because WG have not decided what to do with it yet.

Last time they talked about it. It was with a plan to make a second HT line with that as the tier X. Vs just having it as a 2nd tier X splitting the S.Conq. So they wanted a tier 8 and 9 to go with it. If that is still the plan? Who knows, as it's not been mentioned for awhile.

British line is way down the pecking order.

Russians first. Italian, then Polish.  The rest of WoT lines.

Then the British.  Just as well queuing is what we do.

Well unlike the 268-4 which has completely bogus numbers cuz RASHA I think they thought the Chief would be OP even nerfed so because it's not RASHA it got "forgotten about"

Chieftain.

Is available in WOT PC game files, but not ingame.

Is available in console versions of WoT.

Is available to purchase on the Chinese server (run by KhongZhong and not by WG). Thats purchase for real money. For about £1,500.

Little chance of appearing on EU any time soon.

Console took the old test version from the PC dev server, so did China. And it was broken as all heck. Console has nerfed theirs a few times since then. And PC tested their nerfed version here last when they had "chieftain_test" accounts out and about. So I can see why PC did leave their initial version at first.

The original reason given was that they couldn't  find a way to balance a tank with god like turret, weak hull, and excellent gun.... Then we got the Super Conq, which is all three of those things...

T95 Chieftain is in the game but I think it is a reward tank that is not available in game but can/could only be achieved...

Maybe UK isn't that popular with the Kremlin about now? :hiding:

To be honest these comments cover a lot of British tanks

Turret doesn't looks so godlike... gun it's quite good, but the high pen is compensated by the standard and premium ammo being APCR.

All in all, I would greatly prefere the Chieftain in game than the SConqueror...

Last time I recall they said that they don't just want to introduce it as a side tank after the Conqueror but to have it's own tree (with potential fail projects in it like the A38 Valiant and "Heavy Valiant" ) so they might be still looking for tanks to fill the gaps.

Then again it is the company that said that the FV4202 would be too overpowered with the canceled Turret buffs.

I'd bet anything it'll be the main (4th) reward of the next set of personal missions. A tank that so many players want will make them play for sure. And I'd not be surprised to see the Aufklärungspanther n those missions too. You heared it here first. ;)

Return FV4202 to regular tree at tier 8 and introduce two new Chieftains for Tier 9 & 10. Done.

So we could have a MK6 at t9, & a MK 10 at t10, this would equate to

the spaced armour on the SC, we would have the Stillbrew upgrade on

the MK10 :)

Well, if anything it would be the Mk. II at tier IX and the Mk. 6 at tier X. Forget the Mk. 10 with Stillbrew, that won't happen as they would have to create composite armor. And that would open a hell hole that would devour what little balance remains at high tiers.
