I've put up with this for as long as I could...now I've finally snapped.

I am sick and tired of constantly getting focused down and bumrushed by certain individuals on the enemy team. I'm positive it is pure XVM statsniping directed at me when I see a light tank rushing straight towards me, ignoring all other tanks, or a TD camping in a spot and only unloading into me when I peek out, even when an ally of mine pokes out, they hold fire for so long (20+ seconds so it's not their reload) just waiting for me to come out.

That ally can be a oneshot for the TD but they still wait for me, even though the ally is 100% spotted by the TD and I'm only missing 25% of my HP.

Just now I've gotten focused by a TD player from a certain well-known clan, the one whose main person which the clan is called after keeps releasing XVM modpacks for everyone. You know who I'm talking about.

This player sat in a spot which aims where it would be most obvious for me to appear, of course, as soon as I peeked out, I got shot. At this point I thought it was normal, I made a goof, so I relocated around the other corner of the area. 1 minute later, I get shot again, by the same player, now in a different spot, aiming directly at me, even though there were allied tanks at the corner I was previously shot at...

I checked my allies' stats post-battle, only to find out I'm the 2nd highest rated player by both winrate and PR, the 1st-ranking player went to a part of the map where the XVM user couldn't reach him...

Is this proof enough? I'd say maybe.

#BanXVM Let's make it happen, for the greater good.

Disclaimer: Yes, I'm salty. Send spuds.

Also, hello there qpranger. :hiding:

I thought that stetpedding usually involved playing a few particular low-tier tanks excessively much?

Useless petition. WG won't do anything about XVM. If they did, they would have already banned XVM long time ago.

Don't get me wrong, i also dislike XVM.

Yes, XVM ingame stats should get banned for obvious reasons. It's a cheatmod and it causes lots of problems.

However, many cases of XVM focus are nothing but delusion.

No.

Just give people the option to block their personal stats if they wish, done, simple.

I use XVM to track my personal growth etc, and just to get a very basic idea of how much i can trust my team, I have pretty much never focused on a specific person because of XVM, nor have i really been one of the "gg lost" at the start kind of people. XVM overall is a good thing, just a bunch of tossers have given it a bad reputation.

Sure, people focus me because of XVM sometimes, Even without that they will fap all over the Clan tag and my March of Nations, top 10 in tier 10 badge thing. but i dont care that much because im used to it, If anything take it as a compliment, they think you are THAT good and THAT much of a threat that they will do everything to focus and fap all over your juicy WN8's c:

That doesn't really fix any of the problems.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Welcome to life.

Oh, I hear the "it's just a game" comments already...true, it's a game, but what happens in that game is decided by real people, and those people can either be trolls and mechanic abusers, or fair and supportive players.

The fact WoT is largely populated by the former means actions have to be taken to prevent such behavior.

It shouldnt be live in game, its basically cheating as arty focus the best opponent's. You get autoloader bobs focusing players due xvm stats. Xvm is fine out of game it just shouldnt be visible in game.

I agree, especially the "gg lost" fraction of XVM users. I very rarely notice someone focusing me down just because of XVM.

If you think you're being focused down all the time because of stats, then you're either a much better player than me or just telling yourself excuses for getting into unfavourable engagements and getting punished for it.

The "gg lost" fraction are just regular players though who probably got really frustrated at the end of their daily WoT session by a loosing streak or a constant stream of bad players. These people obviously get very toxic and can't handle all the information XVM gives them. I can understand why they must feel frustrated though. XVM can be really frustrating if you're constantly seeing the colours red, orange and yellow all over the place.

I think the standard XVM colour scale needs to be changed. The bottom half of the colour scale carries a lot of negative connotations. I also don't see the value in all the numbers XVM gives you besides the source of frustration. I personally don't care how bad a player's stats are, so why should I get myself frustrated by looking at them?

For that reason my own XVM config does not show me any numbers in battle and does not use the colours red, orange and yellow.

Red and orange become white, yellow becomes green, green becomes blue, blue becomes purple and purple becomes golden. That's the colour scale you're probably very familiar with if you've played Borderlands or any loot based game. There is a reason this scale exists in all those games: To keep you playing and avoid frustration.

I won't be linking my config here though, but you can probably find it very easily on the Mod hub.

Say what you wanna say... Everybody knows players from that clan all use XVM. It's clear as day, he focused me. Re-read my post if you didn't understand the explanations on your first try.

You probably think I'm just another one of the usual forum whiners...of course, as soon as I start making sense and giving valid reasons, I get ridiculed. Because that's how society works...

How about only having stats available for the friendly team. That way you can see who on your team can be relied on. Hide the enemy stats. Would that solve the problem?

I like XVM and also the stats component

as it helps a lot in quickly asserting the potential impact a player might have on a team.

If I then counter the best player(s) on enemy team, why is it bad?

so, I voted "no"

PS: by default xvm displays the WG rating if one doesnt change the settings.

PPS: what clan you mean? I am not that familiar with clanwars stuff to be honest.

Related to a certain celebrity community contributor who likes to go "cue cue cue", ring any bells? I don't wanna fall into the "naming and shaming" trap.
