I use it as assault TD when toptier, while as bottomtier I use it as a first line support TD, helping HT. I'm not very succesful in it tbh, probably because the armour have a really bad layout. The gun is quite good instead. :)

Completely depends on the map and matchup. Like you can't really snipe on Ruinberg, and you can't really assault on Malinovka (by the time you reach the hill the battle is usually already decided).

Though looking at your profile, I guess it will hardly make a difference for you.

I don't know either on normal maps but in Frontline it's master blaster however that you play it.

It's a hybrid between both roles now that it moves better than it used to.

There was no salt involved in the posting of that comment.

No salt, but an unnecessary comment that could be construed as a snide remark. The guy asked a reasonable question about the best way to play a tank. Couldnt you just give him a straight answer?

Just ignore him fella. You get a few ppl on here that comment based on someone's "skill".

Whatever you do try and stay at distance* and hide your sides.

*by distance I mean to prevent fast enemies circling you. A ridge line at 200m is your bestest buddy

In general. As first reply.
As top tier, beast agressive as you possibly can.
This means, go to the closest brawling area ASAP and push through it, after all, there is only 3 tanks on the enemy team that are a threat, just make sure you have support tanks with you.

As bottom tier, your armour doesn't hold up, so you are a support tank, so try and support from as close as possible, keeping your top tiered tanks from getting flanked/swarmed, and help them in their endeavours.

It's nothing personal, there's plenty of people that play this game that will dig through your stats to have a dig at you because they get a confidence boost that way. His comment wasn't about you, it was about him and making him feel better. Pity the fool.

As others have said, T28's role depends on map and its position in the matchmaker. In a corridor with cover you're a side-scraping roadblock, if you're top tier you have to push like a mofo, if you're bottom tier you just gotta press that 2 button

Would hardly ever call it an assault TD, but yeah, if you are 3-5-7 top tier vs cromwells it can work.

It has pretty decent gun for sniping.

Cheers

Best way to grind t28 proto is to play it in 2014 ^^

Jokes aside, redline sniping won’t give you any high winrate a, as it is very situation dependent if you can carry games from afar. Try hanging around the main brawling area and peek when it’s safe or like lordmuffin said make sure enemy flankers get punished. People will kinda think you’re an exp piñata in this one so make sure to show them what 2750 dpm can do.

I used mine as a brawler and got just below 2k average damage and 62% wr in it, but that was like 3-4 years ago and I’m not sure I would pull it off with today’s mm.

I used to grind up to proto at some point, but I couldn't withstand it's stock grind,it was way too painful. From what i've seen it's a heavy/assault gun hybrid,so play it like one.

non-turret td's are such a pain to play for me... i don't take mine out very much at all as the game play isn't too friendly to them any more.  i would stay away from assault and stay more as sniper/support.  just my approach to these relics of an older WoT.

It's working better in the current MM than most heavies, thanks to the gun. Just don't get hit because the armor doesn't really hold up much and you can't much sidescrape because the sides are paper thin.

I enjoyed mine. One of the better grinds in this game.
