Do you really know what is the best way to play Frontline?

If you thought the goal in Frontline is to win, you are sadly mistaken. The goal in Frontline is to do damage/gain prestige so you can advance to the next level. Going from 1 level, say 11 to the next, 12, is where all the goodies lie. With this said, the strategy of the the two sides is obvious:

Defenders:
Of course you must prevent the attackers from capping BUT not for too long, then you must give up the zone so you (and them) can get more time to do damage/gain prestige.

Attackers:

Of course you must cap, the faster, the better to give you more time to do damage/gain prestige so you can get the extra goodies and not just credits and experience.

I have been in games like the above and attained General status. Then I have been in games where we could not capture zones A, B or C and most don't get past Private. The defenders are very happy because they "won" but actually everyone lost.

Just my opinion, what do you guys think?

Yeah, but it takes really really poor mismatch between 'teams' for the attackers not being able to cap a single cappoint. My experience is that attackers have the most issues trying to cap C. So what (mostly) happens is that attackers in that zone relocate to another zone. The C defenders often just stay in that zone because they can spawn farm. So the dynamic (and the really awesome result imo) is that leads to an  advantage for the attackers in another zone.

Also, when things become desperate for attacker you DO see cap rushing. If done more or less coordinated it's really hard to break the cap All in all this leads to that most FL battles end up in the end zones (most.. not all).

For the rest you're right, as a defender (but also attacker) you do want as long battle time as possible as this simple leads to higher ranks and rewards for basically everybody.

In answer to your question, no, I have absolutely no idea what is going on in Frontline.  I just drive around shooting stuff until apparently the game is over...

What if you've already progressed through all the ranks?

What if you genuinely prefer winning?

What if you realize that you can, in fact, just start a new Frontline game when this one is over?

The title of this thread should be "Do you know how to play Frontline if your goals happen to be these very specific ones that I'm writing down here?"

Trying to do as much damage as possible leads to quick game over. If you (your team) play properly, you'll get win and prestige as well. You don't need to watch or hunt your prestige during a battle at all. That's how this mode is designed - trying to win.

Same here. Whether I am defending or attacking, I generally ignore the objectives and try to get as much damage as I can shoot (and try to survive long enough to do so).

I was get general rank couple times thanks to support. If you have arty or Td and good team ofc, than with your backup you can gain a lot. I got the most for stun and when you hit their tracks and stop them. Of course all that in combination with damage and for more credits, try to die less.

reached lvl 30 4 times, so...i like to  hold attackers with the nose in the spawn point, if i can, and to destroy objectives how fast i can

the leutnant rank is like premium account, and is enough for a short battle

I have my own objectives. As to others I suspect. I don't care about prestige anymore. But crew XP and credits. And defending all 3 caps gives you less or as little as a 6 min random match at time . So I would rather lose at the guns, then win defending all 3.

And I really never got the rage about teams and losing. It don't affect your service record, it don't affect your rank. It will affect your XP ofc, but how many grind stock tier 8's for that to matter. You still get more then 2 or 3 half backed random matches anyway at times. Winning is a bonus, nothing more. For most of the stuff ppl play it for. Duration is more vital then winning.

So what's the goal once you reach lvl30 for the 4th time?

OP, you seem to missed the part about time/'prestige' ratio. You win fast - you can play another game - you gain points for your levels. 15m for 1,2k or 7m for 600, any questions?

Well, I have gone trough Frontline 6 times, 3 on this account and 3 on another account. I have reset it again and I still get the "bonuses" when I move up in ranks. If you prefer winning then I don't know if Frontline is the correct format. Maybe Stronghold skirmishes will be better or even platooning in Random games might work better.

Yup, you get 3 resets, then you're done when you max out again. Unless you make another account of course, but I never saw the point of that, not like I can spend what I earn on one account on the other account.

I play Frontline for fun, credits, and rewards, and I also aim to win. These things are not mutually exclusive. When I said I genuinely prefer winning, that means I genuinely prefer winning *in Frontline*. "Correct format" doesn't even come into it. Current game complete? Let's go again as long as the mode's open (and I have time, of course).
