If its deemed personal data al WG need to do is add on option of  hiding your game stats. This doesnt mean the end of XVM or stat sites, its going to be just fine, just with some accounts where you cant see the stats.

What about Twitch steamers that show my noob moves live to millions or YouTubers that showcase my awesomeness or Replays that you can download?  I suspect none of it will count as personal data.

When EURO currency entered into force, I don't remeber wheter there were some notification obligations, but everybody communicated on it.

It's quite amusing to see people who know nothing about GDPR trying to score points off WG who, whatever their faults, can afford to pay competent lawyers to advise them on this.

 

It's not even as if anyone here actually even cares about GDPR or has a clue what it is about.

But if WG already comlied with the policy before it was implemented, they dont need to change anything. So why is it a major change then?

If you don't like XVM then WISHING WG's sharing of player stats is not compliant with GDPR will MAKE IT GO AWAY.

With this logic you won't be able to explain why products have ecolabels, sites have verysign certifications and shops have VISa, Mastercard stickers on the doors.

Send a report to DPR and they will file it in the appropriate place.  But, out of curiosity, why would you even care whether WG put up a privacy notice on their site?  You wouldn't read it anyway.  And if they decided blatantly to ignore GDPR how would you be worse off than you are today?

I am currently managing a project with a 7 June deadline.  One of my colleagues spent 20 minutes on the phone today arguing that she should not be the "owner" of a task due on Friday which she will supervise and will take a couple of juniors 20 minutes to complete.  It's a good thing it was a conference call or I might have been tempted to throttle her.
