It was the greatest idea WG could ever come up with...even better than Defenders / Bobject 252U.

Wouldn't say its "insanely bad" for high tiers, Its more just "Insanely bad" in general. I actually don't mind playing it in tier 10s compared to my other tiers, Although i'd rather not have to play it at all....

Mines and Ensk are actually nice in tier 10 if you are a competent player, and can have some amazing games in them with pretty much all classes (Except arta on ensk but thats a good thing) :hiding:

I dont know man, I highly doubt that, especially Mines.

Too short distances, very predictable play cause of small size of maps, cant really use range vision, cannot outflank etc. etc

But its a personal opinion, some might enjoy it.

I'm still trying to work out what the benefit is of staying on the spawn side to defender. If you even attempt to engage the faster tanks that move to your spawn side you get picked off nearly instantaneously from the cross fire.

My tactic has been to go down into the basin and sneak along the spawn side spotting for the team both side. I rarely do high damage but its compensated by spotting damage. Oddly I have found the killing zone the safest spot.

The map was created since there was a huge demand for it. People in the 268.4 and other balanced vehicles sometimes got flanked. This map makes sure such thing won't happen anymore.

Obviously. 'Flanking' implies some level of 'skill' must be involved. Can't have that. Remember, WoT's current core idea is 'beating up shittier tanks is fun' (not verbatim, but it's more or less what WoT's creative director said on-stream).

They more or less said in the last Q&A that they agree with players that it's not working on high tiers. But what tier they want to lower it to, or when or if was not said.

Map with a low ground in the middle (with no cover) = bad idea (kill zone, campy, unused map space)

After removing Highway and "fixing" the old Erlenberg WG gave us Province... :sceptic:

What?

Haven´t played I a while (yesterday for the first time since before 1.0), but haven´t we already been through province in high tiers years ago and it was eventually decided it doesn´t work in high tiers?

You telling me it´s back?

How? Why?

In order:

"Redesigned" Province for version 1.0.

Yes we have, yes it was.

'cause Wargaming put it back in, and nobody knows (except them... perhaps)

The map has it's moments, like when you are in your AMX 65t and spawn south, "rush" through your own base and up the road below the cliff on the enemy side, hide behind the rocks/wall there and proxy spot the enemies camping behind the houses. Did it twice already for 2k+ spotting.

Don't have much issue with it, cross, spot some stuff, profit.

Would rather play in a paper med or light than many of the maps in game.

It's a corridor map that has actual cross fire, bad players seem to get wrecked from what I have seen cos they can't handle being aware of frontal and side shots so they either drive into the cross fire where you farm assistance damage or they go back themselves into a corner and end up being useless.

It could do with more routes and the middle being less useless until there are literally about 4-5 tanks left, but again can't see how it is is worse than Abbey or Mountain Pass for example.

Most annoying thing I have found with it is they have put so much foliage at the back of both spawns that if someone goes camp there it is basically impossible to outspot them without proxy spotting them.

Just your first time? Lucky bastard. The map is aids and should be removed from high tier gameplay.

I have a solid dislike for those maps as well (especially Abbey) but at least those are normal sized maps, Province has the additional "fun" of being only 850mx850 and 100-150m of that is virtually useless terrain (the outer ring) because you either flat out can't drive there or have zero firing lines if you do.

The resulting problem with tier X viewing ranges is that you spot across the entire basin resulting in only one valid tactic if you don't want to camp behind solid cover: rush to the other side and go up to outfight the other team's defenders before the enemy does it to you.
