Another very intelligent and elaborate thread. Did you ever consider becoming a writer?

Seems like they're making a decent game - to the point where they have people getting a two T8 premium tanks for 30-odd yurobucks each to reroll as a posting account.

Jokes aside, I don't think they are killing the game. They are kind of thinning the herd, though. Keeping the fat and rich cows afloat rather than caring about the prize bulls. That's more or less what you can figure out from developer comments and changes made to the game. The shoehorned* 3-5-7 scheme is made with one goal in mind - keeping players addicted/happy by focusing on making 20% of games a (potentially) awesome/OK one (the remaining 80% being games where you might get lucky and kill a higher-tier tank).

*Calling it 'shoehorned' is demonstrably correct, and indirectly admitted by Wargaming themselves. They've been changing the matchmaker practically every single patch since 9.18, and it's not clear of issues yet. A few days ago, PMM tanks were claimed to be such a major burden on the matchmaker that they need to remove it. Yes, the same tanks that they are still selling in the shop and the tech tree to this very date. Furthermore, the tier distribution is claimed to be really top-heavy - e.g. there are not enough T6 tanks to feed T8s. It's pretty bad to introduce something that actually won't work - considering how recently the matchmaking system was reworked.

Keeping 3-5-7 alive in face of the problems it faces suggests that it's important - because it is important to keep the fat and rich cows happy and playing.

One could argue that selling the PMM tanks is, in a way, killing their own game if their claims about it being bad for the matchmaker holds true. At the moment they're probably counting the cashflow from sales of PMM tanks after the KV-5 rework proposal was suspiciously officially announced.

PMM tanks are stated to be a burden on the matchmaker, and the tier distribution is really top-heavy - e.g. there are not enough T6 tanks to feed T8s. That is pretty bad when you consider how newly implemented the matchmaking system is. It also suggests that 3-5-7 itself is really darn important to uphold - indeed to keep the fat and rich cows happy and playing.

Why do you keep cornering yourself with that idea???

It's hard to believe that the average and below average players would keep playing for those 3 out of 10 games that's could be may be good! The input is correct but the processing and therefore the result are flawed because you want to reach a certain conclusion that YOU want. Doesn't make it true though.

Is it true that they cater more for the average and below average players? yes and they should if they want to have a successful business (without extremes).

Is the 3-5-7 MM a step in that direction? No it isn't because it hurt those players more than the good ones. Successful business doen't go along with frustrated players.

I doubt 'whales' is the main income source for Wargaming - those would likely buy everything no matter how the rest of the game is. Anyway, whales are arguably more majestic animals than the average play4fun WoT player. Those are cows. Let's just stick with that, my poetic license for English expired a long time ago.

Of course, Wargaming definitely cares about more than whales and cows! There are also manatees (sea cows)!

WoWs brought us the USS Missouri - which cost the (free experience) equivalent of 30k doubloons. That's roughly €92. And you know there are people who've done it without a discount.

Yes and no.

Yes: matchmaking in random battles, powercreep, Soviet bias and a handfull of OP vehicles ruin te game.

No: I love Frontline and I hope it will stay.

usually I'm preety tame in regards to english grammar, since there are players in which english is their second(or even third) language, but mate, freaking put some effort in writing with some deceny, I know 7 year olds that write better than this.

that out of the way, I do not know what to say, really. The premiums that I have are all special to me. panther/m10, xmas presie, lowe bday presie, SU-122-44, my first ever prem, etc etc.

i'll play the game allright, but I think I'm staying away from pmm tanks until this whole shenanigan has been over and done with

No I don't think that they are killing their own game which probably nets them a small fortune, however they are pushing a lot of the playerbase away, or so we are constantly told, someone needs to to take a firm grip of the reins to cut back on this madness.

The seemingly high amount of 'we don't give a [edited]about you customers' attitude is getting a little out of hand now.

Even for noobs like me it is getting a bit worrying.
