After more powerful vehicles have been added and existing ones that were already better, I think it's time to take a look at the Japanese medium line (Tier 5 and after) to see what can be done to bring them up to the standards again.

Tier 5: Chi-Nu

• Increase rate of fire from 12 to 13 RPM (DPM buff from 1500 ---> 1625)

-

Tier 5 Chi-Nu Kai

• Increase rate of fire from 12 to 13 (DPM buff from 1500 ---> 1625)

-

Tier 6: Chi-To

• Traverse Speed increase by 6 degrees per second

• Increase rate of fire from 15.8 to 16.0 (DPM Buff 2053 ---> 2080

-

Tier 7: Chi-Ri

• Make the Premium shell with 186mm pen it's standard shell (no premium shell available)

-

Tier 8: ST-A1

• Increase rate of fire from 8.0RPM to 9.0RPM (DPM buff from 1920 ---> 2160)

-

Tier 8: ST-A2

• Increase rate of fire from 8.0RPM to 9.0RPM

(DPM buff 1920 ---> 2160)

-

Tier 9: Type 61

• Increase Rate of Fire from 6.0 to 6.5

(DPM buff 2340 ---> 2535)

• Reduce Dispersion 0.36 ---> 0.35

-

Tier 10: STB-1

• Reduce Aim time 2.3 sec ---> 2.2 sec

• Reduce Dispersion 0.36 ---> 0.35

• Increase accuracy whilst moving turret slightly

Isn't everything in this game, I guess we all just have to stand in line, here's a question though which Jap medium has the auto loader? I might start grindin again if I think it is worth it.

Instead of buffing many tanks that need it it's easier to nerf the few that stand out.

Basically this.

However, the STB-1 needs a huge buff, not a little tickle.

This has actually been getting harder to justify as more and more tanks get buffed into the new power level.

I agree that some of the jap meds are underwhelming, not sure though if an rof buff is the right way to go, I'd probably give the chi-nu kai 600hp (like some of the other t5 prems) and the chi-ri hovercraft terrain resistance and prem AP as standard + some fictional experimental shell as prem. not sure about the rest.

tier 7 Chi-Ri, but is useless against tier 8, the tank is slow, no armour...beter try tier 8, STA-1

The problem with the Jap medium line is that no tank stands out as even remotely good.

Then their is no need to grind because its just crap wherever direction you look.

I played through the Japanese med line looong ago, before the powercreep said hello. I'm on the Type 61 right now and I can honestly say, compared to all the rest of the tanks in the branch, it seems to be the best one tier-for-tier. It's not bad at all!

Not bad, granted, but too little ammunition if you ask me. 32 rounds with a 6.26 shots per minute makes the tank very inflexible.

The thing with Japanese Meds is the aim time of a self-propelled gun on almost all of them.

I've got the Chi-Nu Kai and it would be a good vehicle at Tier V if it wasn't the long aim time.

Vehicles that can't or aren't supposed to expose themselves for too long due to having poor armour, should have acceptable precision, fast aim time and the ability to connect most shots while moving.

Tier 5 Japanese mediums have nothing to offer. Tier 6 Chi-to has a good gun, I quite like it so far.

Chi-to at tier 6 is pretty good. Decent DPM and gun dep. could do with a little mobility buff. Chi-ri needs a pen increase and again mobility buff or give it a bit of armour to make up for its size.

I enjoyed the Type 61 more than any other tier IX medium, was great.

The X is a huge dissapointment.

Afaik, the biggest issue with most of them is the lack of engine power, with lack of gun handling starting to appear at the high tiers.

DPM is not the issue.

Bad gun stats, bad mobility combined with no armor does not work in this game. Thats the same from tier 1-10, there is nothing to see.
