Because, IIRC, just few T-34 were at Prokorovka. Most of the soviet troops were BT and T-26, with few T-34 and in the order of 10 HT (again IIRC a few churchill and 2-3 KV-1). All this vs panthers and last gen panzers. Still the soviet won, mainly thanks to the bigger number of tanks deployed.

artillery, anti-tank guns and mortar crews were credited with taking out the german armor by the numbers. NOT Soviet tanks.

Abbey is based on Monte Casino.

Highway was based on Chicago iirc

Some skirmishes of winter war took place in Karelia.

No need to mention overlord, kharkov, pilsen, paris, desert maps etc

I believe Live Oaks is based on Louisiana swampland

Yep, the big disadvantage germans had was the really low numbers compared to the allied forces. Really nice tanks, but far too low in numbers to be effective. It's been a problem in USSR as in Europe.

IIRC a Tiger1 was worthed armound 5 shermans. But while germany produced 1200 tigers, US roduced 50.000 shermans. USSR produced even more T-34.

Numbers count a lot! ;)
