Hello Folks,

I'm looking at some premium tanks at the moment because my birthday is arriving in a few weeks and wanna get a premium tank with money i get.

I would like to know what the best premium tanks are, preferably one I can train medium or heavy crew in.

Would also like to know what equipment to get on the tank so it's prepped and ready for training the crew and getting free XP to use when I need it.

Would it also be better to buy Gold or buy the tank from the online store?

I know the matchmaking is rather naff at the moment, especially for tier 8's, but I would like to get a premium to get credits and all that as well as training a crew.

Cheers, Seymmelb

Löwe is great hulldown and a brawler.

VK45.03: don't like tier x matchmaking? Here's a cool toolbox for ya. Great gunhandling, no armor.

Skorp. Most popular tank in the game. a billion alpha, pinpoint accuracy.

The only good one is the Lowe and the Tiger 131 is somewhat good. Everything else is crap, I think the Mutz is actually #3 when it comes to Heavy/Medium German premiums. VK4503 is okay-ish and makes tier 8 credits so that might take the #3 spot.

Tbh.. Lowe is fairly decent and a good allrounder in the current MM if you want German. Great pen, strong turret, snaps rather good & the side armor is strong. But low mobility on med to soft terrain "Lakeville valley is a big no no", weak lower plate and "meh" DPM. It still gets the job done. So it's great for holding a corner or a lane. And forgiving if you do it right. But not that good for pushing lanes or open ground. And will punish you hard if you make a mistake doing that.

But still... it prints credits just fine.

I only got the VK, and for me, at least, it's very situational. The gun is better than most you see, though. The Löwe is usually recommended, and some people will also suggest Skorpion G.

Lowe.  Skorp. That's about it. Skorps are OP as f tbh....can two shot a IS through his cupola. Yes, two shots.  Glass cannon but stupid OP like a defender.

Visually almost the same as Tiger II. And you can buy a 'Tiger' inscription for it. :)

I have been against the Lowe and Skorp multiple times, both quite scary to be against when in a lower tier tank, both seem like good tanks.

Might purchase the Skorp once it's out again, Lowe seems like a good option once i get into the heavy line i'm going own.

How about some of the mediums, i know tier 8 mediums aren't that great, especially the meds, but if i can i would like to get both a heavy and med prem, any of the meds recommended if i can get one?

Probably won't get the VK, doesn't appeal that much to me, have faced it in a couple battles in my VK 30.01(P) and managed to take it down to very low health in a few shots.

VK45.03 is my favourite tank in this game. No tier x, awesome gun, great view range.

I'm not that fussed facing tier X tanks, I'm used to being absolutely buggered by top tier tanks by this point anyway.

it does seem a fun tank if it's in the right game but even then the armour seems quite poor against lower tiers, but that's just from when I've been against it.

As cool as it looks, the very existence of the T7 Tiger II would make me paranoid. Wargaming has shown that they're not shy about going the 'same, same, but better' route (though they haven't sold the RAAC 5/1 on EU yet).

Else I'd recommend the Panther/M10. Bit bland, but a solid tank nevertheless. Standard T7 MT recipe - but sees max. T8 and has T9 levels of gun handling. There's one problem, though: PMM is nice - but there's no telling if it'll keep it until Wargaming has bothered to mention whether removing PMM implies non-T8s as well.

While your planned purchases aren't exactly huge, I'd say you should perhaps prepare to be disappointed.

WoT can sure be fun, but it can also be an exercise in frustration. Moreso than other games. That extends to the parent company, whose idea of 'player relations' is quite original.

Buying something doesn't guarantee it'll stay that way, either by 'active' or 'passive' means. By that, I mean they might change the tank or 'develop' the game to drive older vehicles (premium or tech-tree) into obsolescence.

As for a very real definition of 'player relations', consider how the forum staff apparently stay largely out of the more critical or 'contested' topics, ignoring criticism unless it really gets out of hand with more 'personal' (though relevant and well-argued) attacks on staff and corporate structure. Make of that what you wish. You could argue 'free speech', but not participating in discussions on any level (with the mentioned exception) is to me a clear sign that they don't really give a darn (about the community).

Back on topic, the Löwe and Panther/M10 are pretty solid choices for German HT/MT. They should be fairly beginner-friendly as well, though the learning curve is rather steep for those buying a tank. By T7/8, most have rather advanced crews, and there are some rather nasty tanks higher up.

Well, the Turán III Prototípus is a great german hungarian middle-tier medium tank.

Did pretty good in it when I was still fermenting as a potato.

Haven't played it much recently, but it should still be a-okay.

Just don't spam shells too much since it has limited shell capacity.

Have been looking at the panther/M10, to me looks quite nice and from a few videos I've seen it seems decent.

Let's just hope that it's only tier 8 that are affected if they do change PMM, hopefully it isn't changed and that it's kept how it is or changed to it being more balanced.

Really want the cent RAAC 5/1 but there's still nothing about it's release, seen a few people say it will be out when tankfest is on but we'll just have to wait.

German Meds

Mutz > P88 imo. Mutz has more gun depression, more pen, better mobility and its armor at least sometimes pulls off a bounce. However, the Mutz only trains 4 crew members while the P88 also trains a radio operator (which the E-50M line uses). P88 has more DPM.

I've heard good things about the Panther/M10 but I never played it. The alpha doesn't appeal to me.

The T-25 is epic value for crewtraining (5 crewmembers) for 3.67 euro at the moment. The tank is playable but..  it's meh. It also won't earn you many credits but it should train your crew similarly well to the P88. Tbh I would pick this over the P88, the latter is pretty much one of the worst tier 8 premiums in the game atm.

Will probably be going with the higher tier meds instead of the t-25, it seems alright but i don't find it too appealing to me.

I had completely forgot about that Mutz, which looks quite cool and seems a good tank as well.
