When reading the article "Perfecting Preferential Premiums" I wondered why it should be so difficult for WG to fit the preferential premiums into the MM system. I think you are just making it too difficult trying to do everything in one computation. Why not use a two step approach to MM....

My thought basically is:

Step 1: whenever a player hits "Battle", assign that player a battle tier, based on the chosen vehicle, this step is then dealing with the pref. premiums.

That way, you end up with an X amount of vehicles for each battle tier (1-12),

Step 2: MM computations would only have to consider the available vehicles for a given battle tier.

These two steps are just the basis, and I realize that there will be pro's and cons, but it could be more easily tweaked than the current system.

Would you mind putting that in pseudocode (or real code if thats easier for you) so that we can actually follow your train of thought, please?

There's a MM "sticky" thread we're all told to use for such discussions.....

Sorry, I am not a programmer, I thought it was not that difficult to image what I  meant.

step one: assign the participant a battle tier (1-12) based on the vehicle used (and perhaps some other stats). each normal vehicle has 3 possible values, and the PM vehicles have 2.

step two: MM assigns participants within a particular battle tier to a battle, basically as it is done now, balancing the available types etc.

The problem with the PM is thus dealt with in the first step (and perhaps this step could be enhanced sometimes to take other stats into consideration as well).

@ HeidenSieker, I am not looking to add to that particular discussion, I am proposing another approach to MM entirely

If you create a thread about the MM, which you have, instead of using the pinned thread the likely outcome is that your thread will be locked by a moderator. You may not like that but it is how it works.

To put it simply, what would the point be of a pinned thread otherwise?

The term "battletier" was buried with the old MM in 9.18.
