A Wot CC MarkGFL (yep never heard of him before this either) recently posted a rant video about quitting the WoT CC program. In that video he raises what seems like a very valid point. If as WG state pref MM tanks are causing the MM to screw up leading to the planned scrapping of pref MM and rigmarole around compensating pref MM tank owners.

Why the hell are they continuing to sell these tanks in the store?

Most players who'll buy a pref MM tank going forward won't even have read about the changes and find their purchase changes dramatically in the near future.

Wouldn't a vaguely responsible organization with-hold these "Source of the problem" tanks to avoid making the problem worse?

Just seems really dumb.

These are for sale to those that don't use a minimap, don't leave the spawn area, and for those that run from any fighting within the game.

Nor are they for people that use the forum nor read the 'news' from WG.

IE; the majority of players.

From my point of view, they just don't care about it, they will sell them anyway because they want to take advantage of all the players who aren't aware of this change yet.

Truth is, if you are not aware of it and you still buy a premium tank with preferential mm, well man, you should try to look at possible future changes about it or something, and if you don't, probably you are supposed to be taken dvantage of.

What they say with law can be applied here too: LAW DOESN'T ACCEPT STUPIDITY;

Meaning that if you look for troubles without preparing or be aware of possible risks you could encounter, well, you will be pursued and you will suffer the consequences.

Personally i would never spend money in a game if i first don't look at all the possible things that could happen to that game (or related to the thing i would like to buy)

1st - its WG we are talking about

2nd- Vodka / Ouzo  supply

3rd - left hand does not know what right is doing aka these "offers" are generated by BOT software, same goes for Community announcement. (If they are generated with human input, just wow)

4th - Mark = AgingJedi

5th - did i mention its WG we are talking about?

After all, who is going to buy these "limited super-duper offers" ? Green players (mostly) with few hundred/thousands battles. So why bother with logic.

In case you missed ( because it was posted on the wrong thread) there was an answer to that question which I quote:

Hey guys,

Yes, the preferential match making premiums are something we are looking at right now. The “Perfecting Preferential Premiums” article gave you an idea about how we are planning to change them so they fit in better with the current match maker and meta. However, the reactions to that article also showed that we are not entirely there yet and we have some more thinking to do to find the solution both in terms of balance and in the way we want to make the current owners of these vehicles happy. We will share more info about this as soon as possible.

In the meantime some preferential match making tanks, like the IS-6, Jagdtiger 8,8 and the SuperPershing, are still on sale. People can still enjoy playing these machines if they decide to buy them right now. Whatever the final decision is about changing these tanks, we will make sure that the owners will either:

- have a machine that they can be happy with if they keep the tank after the changes
- or they will have a chance to exchange it for something of equal (or higher) value

Until that point you can still have fun with the vehicle, train your crews and farm some nice credits.

Or some with gold to spend could hope that the non-PMM version will be a better tank.

An IS6 "defender style" ?

A better question would be why are folks still buying them?

To be fair, they seem to have removed the information saying the tank has PMM. So they're not really trying to sucker people into buying tanks that will soon be completely rebalanced. It's more of a "Here's a tank. You can buy it if you think it looks cool."

My theory is.. that they made some obscure promises about future buffs and trades for rarely sold tanks... and now some people maybe tempted by that.

They are fun tanks to play with, the challenge won't go away after PMM is done.

Why would you play a tank with no challenge?

Why Am I getting the impression, this forum is full of pussies?

Because it's complete BS that pref-MM tanks cause the issues with the MM.

WG can't accept that their 'wonderful' idea to fix the MM introduced in 9.18 has not worked, the template system is fundamentally flawed, or at least making the 3-5-7 template the priority is fundamentally flawed.

The intention was good, having more lower tier tanks to fight in your worst match ups, but had they done some simple math they could have easily predicted the problems. If you have 100 Tier 10 tanks waiting to get a game, and the MM prioritises the 3-5-7 template, then logically for those 100 tier 10 tanks, 700 tier 8 tanks are going to be needed to make those games. Of course not every tier 10 tank gets into a 3-5-7 but the principle is there.

WG very very rarely man up and admit their mistakes, and this is another example of it.

Just out of curiosity, I assume based on your above statement that you do not have a pref mm tank?
