WG please......for the love of god, please remove this version of the map, or at least revert it back to the old version. Its just terrible.

I like it. It's like a completely new map and far better than the old one as it has a lot of opportunities.

Some like, some dislike...

Personally I think it's ok.

lol I like that, always fun to take some heavies right down the middle, although I don't like the two arty hit areas in the town either side of the river, still you can make it interesting.

Talking of maps, I still yearn for some of the old ones, Swamp could have been reworked, as could have Pilsen and Stalingrad.

I don't know where you can see opportunities when everything players do is camp NE, SE, SW or NW corner and stay in the castle area...middle is just an extreme corridor than you have to take so the campers on the left and right don't have shots at you until you get out on either end. Even the old hill on the east side was way better than now...at least back then the camping TDs couldn't just pick you off after you attacked the redliners because they never had a clea line of fire and actually had to get closer to the fight to make a difference. Now it's just sit behind bush with your [edited]in the other hand and click attackers who dare to drive onto the flattened ground. You could also fight both ways on the west flank...many were just too stupid to think of a way how to do that.

Old map with the middle corridor the new one has. Should prevent the old "Let's all turn right and sit on a hill" syndrome the old one had. New corridor should make it easier to spot and shoot permanent hillcampers.

I think a lot of the problems with Erlenberg are people trying to play it the same way as the old map.  It doesn't work.  Treat it as a new map, learn the sweet spots and it's actually a great map (for a TD, anyway).  Had some quality scraps there over the last few days.

This basically, the old maps issue was a lack of cover/movement in the middle of the map and lack of crossing opportunities on the river which meant that team's camped their sides and you had an East/West camp off.

Now they have ixed the middle so you have cover and more crossing points, but they have made corner camping spots, so both flanks become north/south camp offs, if the North team attacks from the castle they have to cross open ground into a corner camping spot and on the other side the South team gets to the windmill hill and is faced with a corner camping spot where they have to cross open ground.

Supposedly this map has had changes on the current test server, no idea if it's any better.

i made a post about this map yesterday to complain about the new version. it has become a camping ground. everyone camps at the back, even the light tanks. and if the enemy team pushes through the middle the game is lost.

I'd like the banks of the river on the 1 line by the castle to be usable, they're vertical which prevents  using the line in either direction and forces us lights into the castle. Other than that, its grown on me.

Even though new Erlenberg is not perfect, I'll take current version over the old one any day of the week.

Nah mate, Prok is actually pretty great. Open map with (partial) cover instead of corridors, so scouts have a role, map awareness is important and teamwork key to victory. Maps like Prok really show the difference between players who can only pewpew frontwards and people who understand how flanks work.

The main problem it has is that most tanks aren't designed for a map like Prokhorovka, if you get a team of "I must kemp bush with paper TD" and heavies that won't take the middle it's usually game over.

I think the map is pretty good, people only judge the current map because of the old one...

there is nothing wrong with the current Erlenberg, its perfectly balanced, the middle is more or less equal for both spawns.

and the team who controls the middle and one of the flanks can easly tnen push the remain of the enemy team and win

and unlike the old map, that led to very long games and sometimes draws, when both teams splited on each margin, this new map is more dynamic, the middle is very dense, you can still easly cross the river in mostly every zone... allowing for any tactical change or readjustments...

unlike the old map wich mostly only had the bridges and one zone where you could cross with light tanks...

i really dont understand all the complains this map have received since the beggining... even from the 1.0 beta, it seemed to me a pretty solid map.

The problem isn't that it isn't balanced for both spawns, it probably is. The problem is that it strongly encourages camping by providing corners with a lot of camouflage and a stretch of open field. Consequentially the entire team relies on the outcome of the middle zone (other than possibly some flankshots from the middle) so if you're not in a suitable tank slugging it out in the middle and winning, you can't really push anywhere, you're just sitting there waiting for an opportunity to fire. And you can't all go middle anyway.

Yesterday I got Erlenberg, went east with some other meds, we ran into some other meds and some campers. The scout (who actually managed to spot some campers) withdrew 'cause I guess he felt too threatened, and all the other meds fled to the southeast corner to camp there. Being in an E50 and not wanting to be caught with my rear turned towards the enemy I stayed. Half a min later the enemy meds rushed the flank, I got like 2k spotting damage in 3 seconds, got 2 shots in on the enemies before exploding myself. Maybe I could've retreated and lived longer but I definitely could not push and make a difference, the choice was camp or spot-and-die. Joy.
