Don't have any from both nations and not really sure if I want to. Are there any from either nation which are as competitive as soviets while providing a different playstyle which is genuinely fun. No arty suggestions pls.

Maus is good for heavy pm missions and drunken lols. Rest of german t10s below par in my experience.

For germans: e50m

Others are "okish" but in the monotiers and fullcHeats games are kinda frustrating and pointless to play.

A lot of players will suggest the maus, but i strongly discorage you except if you like to be a pincushion.

I'm not an USA expert but i think that the situation is a little more exciting, but nothing to scream about ^^

Just check the new supertest soviet tonk... for the lolz.

I guess Maus is good if you're into whole super heavy gameplay, and of course E-50M because memes.

As for Americans, I'd say that M48, T110E3 and T57 Heavy are worth getting. In terms of gameplay M48 is pretty generic, a medium with strong turret, paper hull and good gun depression. T57 is somewhat unique since it has decent armor, very high DPM and an autoloader. T110E3 is a heavily armored assault TD, there's nothing particularly unique about it.

T57 heavy, great tier 7, good tier 9 and awesome tier 10.

I really enjoyed the american scouts, but that is a controversial tech tree. If you are not sure, grind up to the chaffee, that will give a great idea of what the tier 6, 7 and 8 will be like.

Both E 100 and maus are fine in my opinion

I already have a type 5. Is the Maus anything different and would provide contrasting game play?

Why the e50m?

Fatton and Maus are probably the most truly competitive ones. Maus with turret angling is far more premium ammo proof than the Type 5. Fatton is just a very good medium tank, amazing gun handling, good DPM, strong turret, gun depression and view range. Aside camo and the weak top speed it's a very comfy tank.

T57,  E50M, E100, and T110E4 are all fun in their own ways but more middling in terms of competitiveness, not the worst tanks not the top dogs on tier 10.

E50M the gun is super reliable, it's fun ramming people and the tank can do a bit of everything.

T57 just because of that raw damage output, nothing really farms damage at the speed a T57 can, use someone else as a meatshield, wait for them to pop out, clip for 1600, rinse and repeat.  Suddenly you have like 5k damage.

E100 still has it's memes cos of that 750 alpha gun on a heavy tank and occasionally penning people for HE, but you'll need a fair whack of HEAT and you don't expect to bounce shed loads these days unless it's against tier 8s.

T110E4 is probably the most versatile tier 10 TD cos of the turret, and the fact it has 375 pen APCR round to lol-pen stuff.

Neither line has truly bad tanks aside the lights and all tier 10 lights are weak, plus the Leo is quite weak but still playable.

Why the e50m?

For me the actuall tier x enviroment is totally pointles, but sometimes platoon mates want to play them and they constantly tell me "try it, it is a good tank" and so I give it a try. After years of jpe100/gwe100/maus it was like

Yes, there are far more better tanks, but compared to what i usually play it is like "from night to day".

E50m over a maus all day for an obvious reason: the best armor is "don't be there when the bullet arrives" > if you are not there when they shoot you they can't pen you, no matter what they shoot. Also the mobility options (like on the patton) make more easy to handle a game on more fronts, than stay idle and hope that rng is on your side.

Yes with the Maus you actually have to aim to do damage. :)

The E3 from the American line is also very good.

I'd say go for all of them...after done with the other nations your on...and then go up trees prioritized according to what class and gameplay you like most.

Regarding being competitive, some are indeed far from optimal..but all in their way have some fun redeeming factors. So unless you are only thinking CW/SH ...take s walk on the wild side and go for the lot of them :)

I went up both those trees first...Russian and French only after being pestered about some tanks due to CW.  Then the other nations as they were released.

Variety is the spice of life.

Sure ideally but my issue was is if it's not competitive, are you going to want to play some of these tanks and get value for the grind?

M48 Patton is the only one I can think of that really is competitive, Maus is situational. Almost every other vehicle has a better alternative, e-50m is a worse patton/centurion ax, E5 is a worse super conqueror, E3 is a quite bad obj 268 v4 etc.

I would say

Germany:

E50M (heard that is a real ram machine and sports a good gun too)

Maus (if you like slow metal brick that need good knowledge of angling to work well)

JPzE100 (1050 alpha and 410 HEAT pen)

Maybe E100 (test it on test server. Not everyone like it)

USA:

Patton (is said a good MT. Also sports the higher view range in game, IIRC)

E3 (Strong frontal armour, big gun, unfamous 375 pen APCR round)

E4 (an HT in disguise, 180° traversable turret and quite good armour with the same gun of E3)
