Separate MM for premium tanks.

 

 

I can't identify another solution that satisfies all stakeholders.

I don't even know what this solution is supposed to achieve, what problem it's even supposed to address.

 

All I thought after reading this was "One fix to rule them all..."

So what else would provide continued revenue to WG, and an environment / game mode that supports revenue generation to be expanded with gold spam / getting the good "new" premium every week, gold use being acceptable etc.

 

Whilst ensuring new players don't have to face powercreeped vehicles that provide such a imbalance as to scare away new players.

 

And allows the semi-historic look and feel of having a core set of non premium vehicles that present the WW2 / 50s/60s eras being coherent to the gameplay (no warhammer / odd paintjobs / "experimental" oddities)

 

It improves MM, as really it's not the preferential MM that causes problems, but that the horde of players at tier 8 means most games have to either be full tier 8, or pull tier 6/7. or 9. to "make up" for tier 8 players getting to play other tiers from time to time. Which is bad for tier 9 / 6/7 players because 80%+ plus of their games will be at tier 8. which has the knock on problem, tier 8 also "uses up" all the tier 6/7 players, then tier 5 players have no tiers to play other than tier 5 or lower.

 

creating two pools of players for the matchmaker (based purely on which tank you select: no reason for the player to select a different gameplay mode) gives players two "flavours" of battle: non-premium: more authentic, slower, more tactical. or premium: super powerful tanks, more arcade style, a bit wackier, more credits, more xp, etc.

Areyou suggesting that PMM tanks should only be matched against other PMM tanks?

The main problem with your reasoning is that premium tanks aren't generally super powerful, though obviously there are some blatant exceptions to that rule.

 

Additionally your assumption that most games at tier 8 have to be tier 8 or pull 6/7 stands in stark contrast to the masses of players who are thoroughly sick of seeing tier X all the time. Something's wrong with somebody's data, and nobody actually has any.

 

Also when driving tier 9 I freely admit that I really don't see the issue facing tier 8s, especially given that they can pen my tank most fine 80% of the time (as long as the player's any good or using gold) and I still have issues with good players who use their tanks effectively. It's just Joe-Stock-1.5k-battles-and-doing-tier-8 that has issues.

 

Edit: Forgot to add this. Don't confuse premium tanks with premium MM tanks. They're not the same thing. Not all premiums have premium MM, but all premium MM tanks are premium tanks.

These MM fixing threads are getting out of hand. I mean, what is going on...you really expect your life to be changed here in any way?

I've just been damaged by a teammate, who was shooting on the run, and I was aiming steadily (we were against a SINGLE tank in close combat). Can you imagine that, he runs behind me to get cover, but accidentally shots me instead?

The creepy part is that there are probably enough premium tanks out there to not even have to queue longer than a minute between 12PM and 12AM. At tiers 6-8 anyway.

1. Replace the Battle button with 'Random' Button

2. Make Random button place user in queue for battle in any one of their vehicles 999/1000

3. Make Random button sell random vehicle and sack crew in 1/1000 cases.

4. Release details on how system preselects players to be on winning or losing teams.

5. ?
