Hello guys,

as of this day you are looking at a proud owner of KV2! I just started with my stock KV2 with 122mm gun and already I had monster games. :justwait:This tank should be banned for being too much fun. Seriously for the first time I am not afraid of being bottom tier!

Can you guys suggest what to research first module wise (I already have 122mm)?

Also what kind of:

Crew skils (all crew currently are at 80%)

Module improvements (gun rammer, vents maybe?)?

Any general tips would also be appreciated.

Cheers :)

152mm gun > engine > turret >tracks > radio

First skills: smooth ride for driver and snap shot for gunner and repairs for everyone else.

Second skills: retrain commander six'th sense and one loader safe stowage and start training repairs for everyone who does'nt have it.

Third skills: retrain Brothers in arms and start training repairs again.

Rammer, vents and gun laying drive.

"Any general tips would also be appreciated."

The official guide which the first reply gave me suggestred all crew members need brothers in arms. Any reason why all need to take BIA? (Does the effect stack?)

BIA works only if every crewmember have it 100% trained and they are all alive.

It doesn't work at all unless all crew have it trained to 100%

Hi there

BIA is a must have because :

Shorter loading time means BOOOM! more often.

Additionally it will improve aiming time, accuracy and general behavior of anithing. This vehicle is just for carrying the gun around the battlefield. So improving it is crucial. Even if its by a small amount.

Short tipp of mine: while cornerfighting, try to experiment with (and master your gearbox ; first gear forward is most important).  That feature is most of the time neglected by nearly all tanks, because of stabilizers and better softstats, but in this tank its worth the tanks weight in gold.

-> Put in first gear, go around the corner slowly and angled then smack them (already preaimed) in the face whyle retreating with full throttle backwards. -> Like this you avoid the ridiculously large gun bloom and counterfire.

I seriously dont recommend it but the Cis6 gun is also quite good, as long as you are able to pen your enemies. Its alpha and dpm is quite solid and you get better reliability at distance. Especially aiming at moving soft targets.

It just kills the speciality (and fun) of the Troll-King.

Good luck with one of my favorites

Cya

General rule Skills work as soon as you start them so 1% does something however little.

Perks do absolutely nothing till they get to 100% so having 99% sixth sense means you do NOT have sixth sense.

Repairs, Camoflage Fire Fighting are skills but they also rely on all crew members having the skill.

KV2 has 6 crew members if just one crew member has repairs at 100% the repair skill for that tank is 100 divided by the crew so 100 divided by 6 which means 16%

BIA is a perk which has to be on all crew members at 100% or it does absolutely nothing.

The most common method with perks is to train crews with skills then later on usually when you are mid way into the second skill drop the skills and retrain with the perk.

Its slow and takes a long time I usually look to get BIA when I start on my third skill set.

I will have either camoflage or repairs on the crew have a full set of other skills or perks to enhance the performance of the tank.

So usually sixth sense Clutch Breaking Snap shot and so one.

Then I drop them all take BIA on all crew members and the sixth sense clutch snapshot etc and then start training repairs again.

If you want to use the Zis, get the T-150. It's a much better platform for the gun.

By all means grind it out on the KV-2 though.

The 152mm is very cheap on the KV-2... just go for that first.

Crew skills:

Repairs.

Drop for BIA, train repairs.

Equip: rammer vents, GLD

Loadout, All HE. Take 2-3 prem AP for soft targets that HE wont pen, but only switch when you KNOW you will get a good shot off.

I too have just acquired the KV2 (Tech tree version, not the Warhammer abomination!) Have mounted the big derp, but I must admit I'm finding the slow reload and aim time an absolute pain at the moment - seems I need to learn to be a bit more patient! Mounted vents, rammer and toolbox -  Waiting for an equipment sale before swapping toolbox for GLD.

Ammo loadout is predominantly HE, with a few AP and prem AP. Which brings me to my question - Is there any way of swapping the ammo order, so that HE becomes the default? - being my usual muddle headed self, I often forget to switch to HE at start of battle, and then wonder why my 1st shot does minimal damage when it should have killed!

You can do it in the screen where you choose  the ammo loadout.

Right click on the shell icon.

Thank you Baldrickk - I thought it should be possible, but hadn't twigged that it was that easy! As always, you are a goldmine of useful information! :)

One thing I find works is to use the R or F keys to move.

Ill explain if you move out of cover to take a shot you often have to pause a fair time for the aim circle to close.

In some cases you can auto aim then press R once you then creep out slowly and the aim circle stays fairly small fire then pull back normally.

F key of course is if you happen to be reversing to get the shot such as when sidescraping.

You may want to stop before firing I have the spacebar for that or you could set up any keys you like that work for you.

Give it a go see if it works for you.
