I was getting 58fps or thereabouts and found it wasn't an issue after the first weekend, when it was admittedly worse.  I have a six year old PC (i7 2700k), upgraded with a GFX 980 and SDD in '16 and I run the game with everything on except motion blur and grass in sniper mode (because it makes it more difficult to shoot).  So "optimization" will probably end up "get a better PC."

Trying to play random battles today and can't find any motivation.

I have 20 million credits, some excellent camo and about 40k free XP.

The motivation is to carry your team to victory, something Frontline never can. Whats the thrill in grinding credits and free xp?

Too be honest it got boring in the end with the same map and no incitament to actually win the games. With that I played the crap out of it.

Well.. there's two ways of looking at this. I thought it was good, less pressure to win, also the game mode was more geared towards farming damage (or doing other useful stuff) for tier progression which means whether the battle was time well spent or not did not depend on the outcome but strictly on your own performance. So winning was a bonus, it's own reward, in a sense. :great:

No I experienced a fair few Frontline battles where it came down to the very last few seconds.  Two occasions I put the winning shots into the objectives.  No win in a random battle ever felt that good.  The there are the nail biting moments in caps where failing would mean the game ends to soon.

As for grinding XP and credits... Are you serious?

It should have stayed. Many people asked for that.

And also for many it was the sort of matchmaking we want.

I really hope it will return soon but I rather feel we won't see it again for 6 months or longer.

Well enjoyed this mode, makes a better experience all round and should be what WoT is about. was predom playing blitz for last year but this month FL has made an impact, how do we get them to bring it back with more maps and permanently.

Would love to see it introduced for say, 1 weekend a month on a random tier of 4+.

The first Saturday/Sunday of every month is Frontline weekend!

Tier would be random 4-10 but can't repeat for 6 months so you'd see most but not all.

Not too hard to implement. Just need a little tweaking of the income. Still, good fun while it lasted so well done WG.

Frontline was the most interesting development in WOT for the last five years! Bring it back but have a block so people cant get shot immediately when respawning  this happened a number of times in Cap C. Maybe have a lower cap so people have to spawn in a area as well.

When WG kill off maps like Ensk and Himmelsdorf it will be for the better as no tank commander in history would send his in any city.

I think the best way forward is to increase map sizes and eliminate the small one or restrict to tier 5 and under.

The one mode of this game that I enjoyed.  Fluid, flexible maps with only limited WG corridor mentality.  Clear simple objectives.  The chance to replenish, respawn, and repair.  Opened game today to find it gone - played one random battle with a random selection of brain injured children and quit.  I think the 'perfection of preferential premiums' may see my end with this game.  An event that will surely please my bank manager.

The other developers should take Frontline and make it a separate game. Obviously with more maps etc... and then we can all forget about WoT.

The day they introduce re-spawning tanks in random, is the day i quit.

I honestly don't know any fun to play game in which you can't respawn.

Even War Thunder has respawns...limited, but respawns.

Let me tell you a story:

There was this First-Person Shooter on PS3 which was active from 2012-2016, called Dust 514. It had 16-player teams which fought in various types of suits, with various types of weapons, on fairly large, dynamic maps. The amount of respawns was limited by the amount of clone reserves your team had, each team starting off with 150 clones. Each player death depleted the team's clone count by 1. This introduced a level of careful gameplay, which allowed for mistakes, while giving everyone a fair fighting chance to bring their team to victory by either draining their clone reserves, or capturing Null-cannons (3-5 on the map, depending on its size), objectives hackable by every player, essentially cannon installations which would fire at the enemy's MCC, the ship (one on each team) with which teams came into battle, and the source of the clone reserves.

I'm not even scratching the surface with this short description, but in comparison, Frontline has the same basic elements of this kind of game, and that is why people like it.

Unfortunately, the shooter wasn't very wide-spread in terms of popularity, but the players who played it, all said it was and STILL is, the best FPS they have ever played, and that no other shooter they played after Dust 514's shutdown (due to maintenance costs), could come even CLOSE to the level of enjoyment and immersion which Dust 514 provided.  It was riddled with bugs, but it mostly played smoothly.

I was one of the players, and I miss it a lot.

Fortunately, before the shutdown, a successor to Dust 514 was announced, and not far from now, in Autumn 2018, after over two years of development, the continuation of Dust 514, building on all of its good aspects and introducing brand new elements, under the development codename Project Nova, will be released, according to the announcement in April.

I might've gotten a little carried away with this... I'm hyped af. It's a game I loved more than any other, and what they say is true; no other game comes close.

TL;DR - respawns and dynamic gameplay elements are the key for an enjoyable experience.
