Every time I come on I convince myself I'm going to have fun, 10 bottom tier games later I realise I'm bullshitting myself and ragequit for the day, rinse and repeat daily. I want to enjoy it again but really it's just a source of frustration now. Normally I'd play lights but then I have a few games where no one bothers shooting anything I spot and that's just more rage.

What do you enjoy about it and how do you deal with the frustration? just quit and try again later?

I just play the tanks that I have fun in, so mid tier light tanks and some autoloaders, and stopped actively grinding most lines.

That being said, I'm mostly playing other games nowadays but I can say that over the past 8 years that I've been playing WoT I took big breaks every 2-3 years that lasted a couple of months.

Well every time you are buttom tier some others are top tiear, maby try to play a tank that gives you better chance to become top tier or you could also go outside and enjoy the summer weather just a friendly hint.

Not so much but that's because i play more trying to finish the lines i have started. Cobra's advice is best, just play what you have and what you like, don't farm, don't fall for the hype and buy tanks or too much gold, hell even premium time might be too much but i guess it's not that expensive if you get it now and then. Play premiums, play team modes, just don't stay too long in random battles specially with the goal of farming tanks, specially stock ones.

I have over 600 battles in my IS-3 where I've never seen a tier 9 or 10.

Just under 500 in my Patriot.

98 in my T54 ltwt (when it was a tier 8).

75 in the bulldog, 65 in the 50 100.

Nearly 2000 battles in total, in tier 8 tanks and not one single battle against tier 9 or 10.  Not one.

Of those 2k battles, the vast, vast majority had no arty at all.

None of them had any tanks that "went to the wrong spot".

All of them involved team mates who were cooperative and willing to help.

because those were TBs

I enjoy the game everyday, well most. I enjoy winning in tight, competitive games where I out skill the enemy. It happens probably 2/3 times a day. the other 15 or so games are either one sided affairs, mediocre battles or one where I fail.

Vs 3 years ago? Yes I do. Then again I'm one of those "weird" ppl that don't mind +2 games unless my tank is 100% useless.. like the tier 8 Czech was that could not even carry as top tier. In my Cromwell B etc. +2 are the games I get to bully the hardest. And why I do get a giggle out of playing it. Heck I even miss +4 MM on my Luchs. So.. yeah I'm a rare exception to that I suspect.

Find fallback tanks you enjoy regardless. For me that's the 13 90, Crom B or even the Luchs. And if you can't even enjoy those. Take a break. come back later or tomorrow. Nothing more to it. If it's not working that day. It's not working. And it's a game after all in the end. If you don't have fun, as that's why we play games. Play something else. Same reason why I never try to do a daily if I get 3 losses in a row. Then I just move to a different tank and leave it. No reason to keep playing if it's not working. As that's a source for more frustration anyway.

well maybe Drownape is right, as otherwise I was going to call you out as some sort of WG forum troll because those figures would be utter BS in randoms

So this would make that over 90% of your matches were in one form or another bad ones. If it's not intended i don't know, maybe then should be acknowledged as a gambling game. But wait it's not legally gambling... But why if it's not enjoyable people still play it? Some kind of addiction must be in place. Then maybe just maybe shouldn't be addressed towards people younger than 18.

Being bottom tier is not a big deal if I'm in a tank I like. I can deal with tier 8 in T-150 or KV-2, I can deal with tier 9 in Tiger1 and in my old SU-152 (should really buy it back) and so on. Those tanks are my favourite and I know them well enought to be useful even as bottomtier. I admit that grinding a tank you don't like as a bottom tier is hard, that's why I'm so slow grinding and if you check my profile will find I played around 7k battles in just 3 tanks.

Also, I find out that platooning is better than going solo, because you can count on some other player and still have fun even if the team is junk. Try it! ;)

Fun? Yes, plenty. But, I always say to myself whenever I log in; remember Element, you will not have fun in all battles.

I don't have any frustrations.

I don't have any expectations of my team mates, or even myself, which means I'm never disappointed.

Yes I still in enjoy World of Tanks, else I would not continue to play it.

However if I am reading a good book, then I might not play one or two evenings.

I also go out to dinner, the theatre, the cinema, friends homes etc, and so I do not play everyday of the week.

I think the advice about finding and playing tanks you enjoy is for of the advantages of World of Tanks. There is so much variety. You can clearly see some players playing top tiers and others low tiers. Also some players prefer specific classes. I saw a player the other day who had blue wn8, he had 107k games of which 19k were in M53/55. I personally found that rather mind boggling, but it clearly floated his boat.

actually, i do. Against the all broken things, bugs, incompetence, bad decisions by WG, I still do.

TBH, i dont grind tanks like before. I use freexp for all crit. modules, have great crews, have credits... even if i grind some XP or crew, i have tons of reserves...

much easier to play then before 2-3 years lets say.

I do not like the game, as much as 2 years before, when the only problem was broken e5 (ok, not the only one, but the biggest problem for me).

but i still enjoy.

i hope they will not f this up.

I personally have always enjoyed this game, i mean sure there is issues with it but i never let that put me off nor do i dwell on it and pick fault with minor things, I think its a great game and nothing is perfect, every game has its problems :)

Not as such no, but I am a creature of habit. The game felt more enjoyable in 2013/14... of course at the time I was mostly playing mid tiers so it could be a factor. I never seemed to run out of credits and battles seemed more balanced and far less frustrating.

Those were the years...*sighs*

That video explains a lot but there's one thing I think it's missing and I know most people disagree. We grind through bottom tier games to tier 10 hoping to have some fun bashing lower tiers for once only to have 80%-90% of those t10 games be ONLY t10 games.
