i think it is imposible. HE shells explodes when something touches so water can explode shell or it cant explode in water...

Or... you tracked him and got the credit for drowning it. As water or not. The cone an HE shell makes if you miss upon impact still goes towards the nearest target to even do module damage.

In the real world - underwater explosions transmit pressures with greater intensity over a longer distance

The water surface in game is not a barrier for the shell. IRL they should be exploding when they impact the water since it is hard as concrete at those velocities the shells hit them.

Are you the sort of person that thinks water extinguishes fire? Ever heard of the Greek fire? Ever heard of flammable liquids less dense than water that will keep burning without any issue? Ever heard of burning metals, chemical reactions? At all? Heck, there's even people fishing with dynamite for fun FFS, what's so hard about wrapping your head around something so mundane as an underwater explosion?

I dont speak english as primary language, but i dont think the question here was about the explosions underwater i think everybody knows thats possible. To me the question sounds like more how does the fuze reacts to the water.

Something like "does the surface of the water trigger the he shell to explode and thats why the tank would be safe underwater?" or "If the shell goes trough the surface does the velocity of the shell drop so fast it would just drop softly to the bottom of the lake not triggering the fuze?"

Without being too technical most HE fuzes have a delay mechanism ( loader has the option of SQ (super quick) or delay by turning a screw in the fuze) in their make up to allow milisecond or two of penetration prior to initiation. This would enable a shell to penetrate the surface of the water prior to detonation hence inducing an underwater explosion which as Bord rightly states is greater in intensity than a surface detonation.

However what damage is taken by a open armoured vehicle against a surface or underwater explosion is, i suggest, unconfirmed as I can't see the logic behind anyone actually testing that.

How does a crew repair a track in 5 seconds?

How does a tank have HP?

Why can't I hit external fuel tanks clearly visible in the model?

Simple answer, it's a game. The end.

Compression wave, like a depth charge it doesn't rely on hitting anything but the force of an explosion is almost a 1 + 1 ratio over a short distance in water.

There is no water.  The game exists entirely in computer memory and putting water in there is very bad.

Do you realize that this game isn't a perfect copy of the real world? There isn't any modeled water. And only because you can see beyond the redline, it doesn't mean that there is a whole world behind it to discover.

Your threads get more and more stupid.

Dunno why, but when I saw this I started laughing. Guys, we are talking about a game that has a Jesus Christ in disguise in every tank, to resurrect a killed tank mate, at your command. There is no more reality than that :D

'Jesus resurrects every 90 seconds'™.

Don't dismiss RNGesus, the bipolar bastard.
