You see I'm not normally a member of the tinfoil hat brigade or anything like that, but it does strike me as slightly... ironic... when, the very day after I posted that screenshot above on here, the following thing happens...

 

 

And yes, I got another duplicate card today as well...

 

So yes, there's still plenty of time left on the event, so if you still have empty slots in your collection, be patient (for now) and hopefully the cards you need will eventually drop.

 

And just like that the median went down to 22 cards :D

I hope you guys know that each daily mission gives you cards for different positions. Is there any chance that you are getting the duplicates in the 5 victory mission reward packs? That could be explained with the fact that you already got the two Strikers upgraded fully.

As far as I'm aware, the cards should all drop randomly regardless of which of the three card drop missions (score a goal/win 3/win 5) is completed.

 

This is because the three missions with the card rewards are separate entities from the various position-specific missions which, while they do in some cases have matching requirements, also have their own unique credit and experience rewards.

 

In fact, to further demonstrate that point, I picked up the bronze Leopard 1 card today from the 'score 1 goal' mission, which is related to the Striker mission with the same requirement, and yet the Leopard 1 sits in a midfielder slot.

Crossed out my post above because apparently WG's in-game mission team and their website news reporting team didn't talk to each other YET AGAIN...

Umm, the Score 1 goal is giving you a Midfielder card according to the news page.

3 victory is a Defender card and 5 victory is a Striker card.

Oh, great. Good thing that it does NOT say that in the effing mission interface in the game. Another great design WG....

WG should write a book ''How to make simple things complicated and unintuitive''

So does it only give duplicates for the position types for which you have a complete set? And if no complete set then ut gives a new card?

With the updated modell the median player will need 50 cards and 21 days because you can skip the 3rd mission as soon as your striker slots are full and the cards you get are more evenly distributed.

(90% @ 67cards and 29 days; 95% @ 73cards and 32 days; 99% @ 87cards and 39 days; 99.9% @ 105cards and 49 days)

That's 'situation normal' for WG really.

 

Unfortunately the people who code the missions into the game, and the people who write the news items about the missions, are two wholly different teams who apparently don't talk to each other, hence the constant disparity between website and in-game mission descriptions...

I guess we'll find out tomorrow, I've only got the gold Kranvagn and Leopard 1 cards left to pick up, so if they both drop tomorrow then it likely means the event is only dropping duplicates for classes (i.e. forward/midfield/defense) that are already fully complete with gold cards.

 

On the other hand, if I get any duplicates tomorrow instead of either or both of those two remaining cards then it means the card drop system is actually somewhat randomised.
