Well it has been coming for some time but the day has finally arrived.  Due to the continued reduction in the quality of player/team skills and the now complete absense of any sense of strategy in the game I have uninstalled WoT.  Such a shame that while the visual content has improved with each and every update the developers have completely ignored the fact that the core of the game (team play) has reduced to the level of the game being unplayable.  No one expects to win every game but when you can lose 10/20 games in a row in any tier with half of the team in each game doing zero damage then both MM and player development/training has failed miserabley.

Sorry WG but this is a 100% failure on your part, you have let what was one of the best online games available die a painful death by spending far to much time implementing rubbish events with each update while ignoring what the players have been telling you for ages.  You say all of the changes you make are based on statistical information gained from in game analysis, I would suggest you develope a new metric which will give you some insight into how a game that fails to engage it's players and leave them wanting more and wanting to continually progress to the next level will lose those players. As an example when I started playing there were regularly 150,000+ players online on the EU server, recently you will only see half of that number.

I wish you all the best but will not be surprised to see WoT becoming another game consigned to history.

If it helps, it's rather likely that the current state of WoT is more or less completely intentional. You know, working as intended. :great:

I have bills to pay and a life to live so limited time to devote to gaming but the fact that you have more time for it than i do does not in any way change the point of my post.

I see take your point but I am not just talking about the last week but a general trend over a couple of years.  Also the post is my opinion, if others disagree and/or think the game is fine as is thats ok too   ☺

Drat indeed. Had a more extensive reply in the works, but the forum swallowed it when that Youtube video decided to load. Maybe for the best.

Anyway, this looks like a low-risk approach to keeping the game alive. Hence 'working as intended'; the changes hasn't outright killed the game yet.
There are good reasons for why they've gone low-risk/low-intensity now. 1.0 was apparently a massive project that consumed company resources for close to two years - yet apparently failed to renew interest outside of the playerbase (to no real surprise). WoWp also underwent a major revamp recently, and it's hardly a popular game still.

With those recent experiences and expenses fresh in mind, it's more than likely that going 'plan B' is what they need to do, lest they risk sinking more money into the game for nothing.

It's a low-risk, low-intensity route that can't fail to turn a profit. Of course, they're barred from changing a successful game too much - in no small part because WoT is WG's golden cow. They have little experience outside of polishing that golden cow.

There's a core WoT developer on record in a Q&A stating that the idea behind the current matchmaker is 'memorable experiences'. That's basically admitting that they've resorted to lazy, gambling-style game design.

So you are blaming player skills and not the game? Not much WG can do about that.

I knew a Mr & Mrs Edge who called their daughter Susan.

not thinking Susan is often shortened to Sue...you can figure out the rest.

Poor girl, felt REALLY sorry for her.
