the personal missions/campaign is aaaaawwwwffffuuuullll, they all look like a pile of you know what, it looks like a 3 year old that discovered a crayon for the first time, and that big gold badge also sucks, it looks like a certain type of disease, and considering that u had to complete every arty mission with honors to get it = u are awful person

ranked badges suck, bronze looks like a pile of..   silver looks awful, and gold looks like bronze for me and many of my friends.. and ranked badges doesn't mean anything as well, countless 48%ers got Gold badges just by playing the game mode enough and with the correct tanks, ranked shows 0 skill

March of Nations badges are pretty damn awful, including being top 10, i've seen even 48%ers with top 10 badges at tier 7-8, only top 10 tier9-10 requires skill, but yet again, they are ugly?

badges of clanplay is pretty damn awful looking, and dozens of bad clans get these badges anyways, so what's the point?

Frontline badges is quite horrific, it looks like Halloween badges imo, and again, not only is it ugly, but it is useless as well.

i might be forgetting a certain set of badges, but yet again, as with all the badges in game = 47%ers can get them as well, and they all look ugly as hell

so, not only is every single badge ugly, but not even 1 of them indicates skill except for top10 march of nations at tier 9-10

and then add to the fact that all the bad players (i.e. xvm users) actually think these badges mean something, it just creates more focusing of players down?

Everyone with a tank over tier VIII must have access to at least one of these badges yet the fact that most players aren't using one shows how popular the concept is.

But I think WG's long term plan is that everyone will have one, I'll be surprised if they aren't giving one out for completing the new in game training.  They love to give out shiny things for as little effort as possible.

Well, they have to mean something to you too. Otherwise, why write this topic? If not then why care how they look if you have little interest in them or their meaning. It's not like they are in your face on the team panels when playing.

If that's such a big issue. Don't post for opinions, and you won't see them.

Well that deteriorated into a primary school slagging match rather quickly.

But agreed the badges do look terrible but then they don't have much space to play with and you have to be able to tell them apart on low resolution screens.

just dont see the point of the badges tbh, it quite literally has only negatives to them, almost all of them is effectively just participation badges if u think about it,

the 1-2 that does require skill, only results in the enemies focusing you, even the ones that doesn't require skill results in focusing you down

If anyone is focusing based on the badges then more fool them.  Especially the 1st and 2nd personal missions badges.

And yes they are participation badges, just like most of the medals in game.  But WG know that people like being rewarded even if the reward is something everyone gets.

I got a host of badges, I just don't display them. I prefer to let people think I'm a noob KV-4 driver who just can't even get a single badge in his tank.

I do want a LumberJack badge tho. I liked that rating. Never got a Medal or badge for it.

It should have deleted all of it.

For what it's worth. These badges are not designed to indicate skill at all, they're designed to show off achievements. So your whole concept that "even 48% players can get them so they're useless" is just nonsense.

Quite frankly, anyone who tries to use them as any form of skill indicator is the problem here, not those using the badges.

The badges symbolise a dedication, or achievement, to a certain area of thegame that the player may be particularly proud of. Nothing else.

In terms of a skill indicator, they're identical to special camos, inscriptions and medals. In some ways they're also similar to MoEs (whilst these do somewhat indicaate skill, particularly at higher tiers) they are more indicative of a dedication to playing a certain tank/playstyle.

Who cares about badges. They are all useless and you won't get any advantage over other players and as you mentioned when bots get them given enough failtime they are worth even less.

That was actually considered as an award, which pretty much sums up the WoT rewards system.  The only surprising thing is that they didn't bring it in despite adding the code to count trees.

I'm pretty sure WG specifically said badges were introduced so u can be proud of your achievement and show off your skill level,

so 1. getting these badges isn't achievement since anyone can get it

2. requires no skill

Yeah, and you expect them to say "we introduced some badges we will give out randomly for anything we can think of until everyone has at least a dozen of them to choose from".

WG want players to feel good about these, it's the equivalent of getting a sticker for going to the dentist when you are a small child.

well who actually feels good about these things tho? none of my friends use them, only the stug badge for anti-xvm focus
