I like the looks of that tank, it looks mean.

Completely worse compared to the regular T-34 though, which explains why it's a reward tank.

On holiday from the 19th of august, so we'll see about the mission requirements. Not spending a penny on tokens though.

Curious to see if this will be easier than the HT VI marathon. That was definitely not worth it. This thing isn't either, unless the soft stats are awesome.

Remember, it does not appear have any extra armor on the front hull.

Indeed, it does give it something unique tho. This will be a tank where the side-armor is strongest (and the strongest turret armor is the side & rear). Tbh, it's part of why I like to have one, so hoping the marathon is doable for me.

Oh... Oh...

I'm not in the least bit interested. It's a craptank. What a shame.

For me that'll be the first ever "garage slot".

I've 3 Marked the regular T-34 with the monster 57mm gun...

Think I've had all the t5 T-34 action I'll ever want. The armoured one will look pretty in the garage I guess.

Why not make two sets of missions, one for the T34E and one for a German tank, a Pz. III or a Pz. IV. Think about it WG, twice the attention for the price of one event.

The problem with that tank is the 76mm gun that's just horrible.

I mean I'm all for free stuff (yay!), but since they've been giving soviet freebies all the time for who knows how a long time, I just can't see me ever driving that thing.

But oh well, maybe it'll be nice crew trainer for some free to play guy that didn't wanna buy Matilda IV or some other superior tank.

Can't be worse then the Matilda IV, I'll take it. Tho bummed it's not a personal mission reward like we hoped for. Oh well, maybe next year.

Where do people get the info that this will be about the T34E? There isn't even a remote hint about that in the teaser article.

Guess its just a a logical assumption. Looking at the tanks that participated in the battle of Kursk + what (russian) premiums have hit supertest lately, I tend to agree that it will be the T34 Shielded that will be the reward. Even though 7 week marathon feels kinda long for a T5 premium...? Forgot how long the marathon was for the T34-85M... Unless WG takes a whole different apporach and make the new Polish HT premium the reward tank...? ;)

Me too. My Hellcat, T34-85M and VK(P) will feast on the souls of many, can't wait. :)

Fifty days and nights of hard-edged warfare. Around 2 million people involved and over 7,000 tanks deployed. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, arguably one of the key turning points in WWII that featured history’s biggest tank encounter.

To commemorate this historic milestone, we’re announcing a special set of Combat Missions. The event will last from July 5 to August 24—a timeframe almost identical to the real Battle of Kursk in 1943. As always, we’ve tried to make sure missions are both engaging and rewarding, however, you might need a certain set of vehicles to fulfil some of them.

So, get set and let’s remember the largest tank battle in history with Battle of Kursk missions!

"you might need a certain set of vehicles to fulfil some of them."

I wonder if these means that some of the missions will require German and Russian tech tree tanks actually used during Kursk/Citadel?

T34-85M was like two weeks and no effort involved, basically a gift if you just logged in. Seven weeks for only a T5 would really be a new bottom for WG Paris. Could as well be that WG will release the JT H premium TD for this.

So it's just pure speculation, no real indicator.

Could be, similar to what they did with historical battles years ago.

6 weeks for a tier 5 tank, I certainly hope not. I am sure the progetto was only a 4 week campaign, so I would like to think that there is going to be more on offer or the missions will be simple. Honestly this hype for Kursk is not even worth it for a tier 5 tank worse than the regular tank. But as usual, no details so it is all assumption.  Even if boosters and premium equipment is added it still isn't anything special... We will have to wait and see.

I would think so too, but with 2 weeks to go until the even t starts, why not tell us which tanks you'd need? I am only on Tier 4 on the German line and spending most of my time on my UK (MT & HT) grind. Would be nice to know with a bit more advance warning if I need Tier 5-6 German tanks so I can switch gears...

Maybe it wont be the the T34 Shielded then, since the marathon runs for so long, but maybe it will be the new Polish premium - the Project 51...?;)

Marathons generally are for proper premiums, usually available ones, and most of the time they been available before. (T-34-85M, Heavy tank no6, Dicker Max etc.)

And the T-34E is listed in game as a reward tank like the Obj. 260, so you may be correct.

Also a 'marathon' for a tier 5 seems a bit lame to me, tier 5 prems cost about as much as a pint.

It's indeed unique, and will probably work out OK against same-tier guns. Might check how the armor is modelled in War Thunder. Side armor almost as thick as the T-34-85M's front at T5 will be quite funny, that's for sure.

Seven weeks for a T5 tank is hilarious, unless you get a set of missions to be finished within seven weeks. After the amount of work you'd have to do for the HT VI last year, I'm not quite sure. This is an unique tank, after all, and the demand for unique tanks must be quite strong. Noticed they sold the Pz. III K again, for instance.
