Hello, as Tiger 131 is again on sale I would like to ask if it is worth it. I already have the VK 45.03 and it constantly meets T9 tanks. And with it paper armor and huge profile, it is hard to use as a sniper. But if I am lucky and I am a top tier or even a middle tier, I can have a nice game with it. I even have the first MoE on it.

Tiger 131 looks almost identical on paper, just with a worst gun, but one tier lower. Can anyone advice if it is a good choice? Thanks.

Played the VK36.01H?
It's basically the same tank

Yes, I did. Unfortunately it was 6 years ago so I do not remember it. And even the game was different then.

I have average win ratio of just under 52%.

With the 131 I am after 286 battles at 55%

I don't have the VK4503 so I can't compare them.

I do have the other two Tigers though.  The Tiger I (VII) and the Japanese version.

With the Japanese version I have 49.25% after 67 battles.

With the tier 7 Tiger I I have 1345 battles and 56%

For some reason I don't do that well, or even enjoying it, the Japanese version, I don't know why.

ANYWAY, here is my final part of my long answer.

If you are like me and like the Tiger I very much, there is a good chance you will like the 131 too.  That's what I do.

It's a good tank, but not as good as VK45.03. At least I rather face 9's with VK45.03 than 8's with Tiger 131.

So my advice is: if just for crew training purposes, naw, unless of course you dislike your current trainer a lot. But if you got the cash and want it, why not, It's not like it's gonna bankrupt you. But for me, VK45.03 is the better tank out of those two. The bia crew on 131 is nice though.

I dont have the 131 but I have the Japanese varient.

I find it rather underwhelming at tier 6, the normal Tiger 1 at tier 7 I enjoyed much more.

As a good silver grinder/crew trainer? no

Its more of a vanity item, since its the only working tiger 1 tank.

I would recommend getting it only for the BiA crew, but the 40€ pack looks like a good deal in my eyes so i would recommend getting that.

You get the seal clubbers delight, tog and the tiger 131( with the BiA crew)

Thank you all. I will go for it. I know that VK 45.03 is not a bad tank, it just does not suit me. But for some strange reason I am quite good in VK 30.02 (M). And having two premiums with the same crew setup never hurts. Moreover it would be good to drive an actual tank between all thos scifi ones implemented lately.

That three tanks bundle looks good, even though I can not imagine "driving" the TOG :)

But if you get the 40e bundle with the pz b2, you'll never run out of german radio operators! :D

Can't remember the crew layout exactly but somehow I got the picture reading about it in the forums that it has like a commander and ten radio operators or something.

i have japanese one. Very very average tank. Huge, slow, without armor. Bc of quite poor mobility and penetration is quite useless vs t8 and bc off new mm this tank sees a lot of of them. New sherman is much much better choice for similar price.

Tank is average but if you intend to start any new German lines or need a crew for a high tier German tanks it's probably worth it for the BIA crew.

The x5 missions that both packages come with will allow you to train a good crew very quickly, if you stick 300% crew boosters (the bundle comes with 200% which are decent as well) then you could easily be way on the way to completing the 3rd skill by the time those 15 x 5s are done, especially with accelerated crew training on. You can easily get like 30-40k XP per game going to one crew member with a good game.

Even the tank was different back then, if you remembered it.

Any particular reason why you don't enjoy the VK4503? 131 might not be that different, all things considered.

Nah not really worth it. It's not a bad tank, but not great either. Definitely not worth the money as a premium tank.

It's a pretty tank and WG probably only added it for collectors.

I would rate it a very good tank but somewhat hard to play.

You have no armor, slow speed and a very good gun with excellent DPM. Not the best combination but somehow it works out. At least for me. Not sure what it costs now but I bought it REALLY cheap mostly for the BIA crew.

Well... I would not recommend that tank if you don't have a soft spot for the Tiger 131. I've been to Bovington and seen it IRL so for me, that was the reason to buy it.

It's not a credit maker.. well. Not a good one. I think a Löwe would be much better for credit earning and crew training to be honest.

It will sidescrape well. As long as people dont shoot at your turret. Around +160 pen or so will go through most part of the turret.

It's perfectly playable but nothing special. As Baldrickk noted, it's pretty much the tech tree VK 36.01H, but with different model. Comparing it to VK how it was 6 years ago isn't really all that useful, if you did (and you should've) used the conical gun - the playstyle is completely different.

The gun feels a bit derpy with 145 pen and worse handling than in VK 45.03 (if you use that as a yardstick) but is honestly pretty much in line with other T6 heavies. The pen is the only constraint - you end up shooting gold at tier 8:s (and well, japanese heavies), but then again, there's going to be max 3 of them in a game. Otherwise it's pretty much what you'd expect out of a T6 heavy.

The 100% free BIA crew that comes with the tank pretty much sold it to me (I think outside mission reward crew, this is the only way to get free BIA crew to german tanks ?). I bought the just the tank and the crew for 15€ when it became available, and got pretty much what I expected to get for that money.

You never drive the TOG, you cruise out serenely, and after you have consumed the obligatory cup of tea, you then have a quiet moment to think about what you are going to do:D

The Bia crew makes the Tank worth the money.

If you have the VK4503 there is no point in getting the 131, unless you are a collector.
