Game is moving towards campingpartys in several flat maps. I like to have aimingpoint to field for unstraight fire. It would be nice to put flag or something in field by clicking minimap by right button. Now its easy to aim horisontally to spotbushes etc. but by the new "endless map sides" its hard to make elevation correct from long distance.

What people say about that idea?

This hasn't translated too well.

I'm at a bit of a loss on this one.

I think I understand what he meant. I'll try to explain it to you.

He wants to be able to place a physical flag or any kind of marker (only visible to him) on the playing field by right clicking on the minimap. By placing this flag or whatever into a bush he hopes to be able to guess the correct gun elevation or depression to hit whatever maybe hiding in this bush. Or in generall place a marker on the battlefield to guess whether or not this positino is possible to fire at from his position.

Do we have little soldiers to run across the field to plant flags ?

Why not? The most tank drivers from arties, or tank destroyers are nearly unemployed the whole match long. And the few meters from spawn to the next camping location could be driven by any other crew member. So why not give the driver a few flags and send him on a journey? On his way he can make new friends with other drivers on the same mission. And in the end there will be around 10 tank drivers sitting in one bush placing all their flags^^

I find your suggestion to be mildly offensive. As a former tank driver I say send the commander. He's just sitting in the turret doing jack all anyway. The driver is busy playing Advance Wars on his GameBoy, I tell you.

Should not need any such. We (in theory) have competent gunners who can target a point on a map.

But then sending drivers would allow them to play a multiplayer battle with other drivers. I allways prefered a 4 player battle agains human than a player vs CPU in Advance Wars. ;)

On topic, the idea would be quite interesting. Maybe a small light circle that helps to evaluate distances or position. Not really necessary, but surely helpful.

Not a bad idea, but it would probably be easier to add a button that negates the range compensation. just let the shell fly at the aim vector and let the player make his own adjustment for elevation.

Why give the little soldiers flags anyhow? Surely it's better to just give them a big tub of fluorescent pink paint. When get they to the bush they can throw it over the front of any enemy tank they find, with the effect of 1. destroying his camo values, and 2. destroying his optics.

Way better idea: give them raspberry jam. You can jam their tank and give them the raspberry at the same time!

No thank you. That's one of the things that keeps bushcamping from becoming OP.

Because we have an infinite aimpoint that adjusts the gun elevation for distance i can see the point of this, instead of lofting shells over the bush we want to blat this would mean hitting the bush/invisicampaingbustardTD. Or enable some kind of range mechanic so we have to aim higher over longer distances or with potato-lobbing velocity guns.
