I swear Fjords used to be a better map prior to 1.0 and the subsequent 'tweaks'. I remember the former version being much easier to attack on. What do you think?

fjords is terrible, this map must be removed from the game ..for ever

Its the first example I can think of where WG have made a map dramatically worse. I mean they've always knocked out bad maps (Paris) but making maps worse …. really.

North spawn is always lose. WG said this themselves despite their recent "tweaks" in trying to fix it. 

 

Plus, over half the map is unplayable as water or mountains.

Spawns are East (right side) and West (left side).

Fjord is my favourite map since 1.0. North became a campfest but south lane actually got better. And because I use mainly HTs, I do quite well on this map! ;)

One of the worst if not the very worst map in the game. North is complete *edited*fest, the map is still very unbalanced, etc etc. It's not fun with anything. The only area that isn't complete aids to play is the south, but even then, it's not enough to render the map not completely terrible and that flank doesnt help the map being unbalanced and a campfest.

 

It was never great, but it was way better than it is now.

It used to be pretty fun imo. I don't like it at all now though.

They completely *edited* up the middle. They removed the ability to boost the middle hill but instead added a hill where you could drive up normally in return....and the middle field is completely open funneling the attacks even more. At least they could have also opened up the northeast corner a bit when they were at it.

The heavy corner is fine, maybe marginally improved now that theres a bit of cover from tds shooting you up from across the water. But the heavy corner was always fine so...

Yep this is the problem now. The middle is so difficult to spot across that attacking is penalized. You cant rush because you never know whats there and you cant push because you get caught in cross fire from the corners. And that little hill thing is like a fortress for whoever gets up there. Theyve basically made the middle a dead open area, alot like the middle on Paris.

Its *edited* terrible now, just an awful awful map.

- Its one sided in favour of the left spawn

- It punishes active play so its a horribly static map

- The only flank that is even close to being fun, the southern flank, is basically useless

- Large areas of the map are either a complete killzone or you can't play on due to mountains / water.

Gud map da. Heck I'd even take *edited* Mines or Erlenberg over this garbage.

I hear no one complain about Campingovka where battles last until the timer runs out or Murovanka.

I thought it was horrible before the HD update, my head would drop when I saw this map. Honestly, I think it is much better. That said, I would not consider it a good map so don't misunderstand and I would prefer to avoid this but there a few more workable locations imo than there was before. So, it's a terrible map now but before it was simply diabolical.

 

Edit-...I picked up my first Kolobanovs on this map and several Radleys so it's been kind to me at times although I still would not consider it much fun overall.

Still 100x better than Mines especially with tier 10 involved.

This for me. I play a lot of LTs and the middle is just killing ground. Cant spot properly due to the (dense) bush that rings the middle field with no cover to aid any advance without duying in 3.2 seconds.

This map is horrible now.

The middle that was the only interesting part of the map was made into an open flat field with TD bushes all around it so you can no longer do interesting plays with meds/lights.

 

Sadly they made Fishermans bay even worse with the updates.
