Guys, I hate to say it, but I might have to start playing arty to complete some missions. If I only want to go to tier6, I'm thinking USA line. Anybody got a better idea? And via M37 or T82?
Is it worth using free XP to avoid tiers 1-3? I have often wondered how arty hits those fast little low tier tanks..

Your input is much appreciated, thanks chaps.

IMO Just get something like the Chaffee which I think leads to the M41 HMC, or the AMX 12t which can lead to the AMX 13 F3. You don't need anything better than a 75% Crew in them anyway, so it's not exactly a loss to not train the crew up in the previous vehicles.

The US arties are working pretty well but if you don't like to play arty anyway, go for the FV304. You have to move close to the enemy as your shooting range is very small, but you'll have great mobility on the other hand and pretty useful armor (for an SPG). The most entertaining arty line of all.

US arties sucks balls, except, of course, the M53/55 at tier 9! Might wanna try German ones instead. Accuracy matters!

Ok, sounds reasonable. I can't face more AMX12T, I have sold it twice...
The Chaffee to M41 sounds good, I may try and practice on another account.
Thank you fella, appreciated!

I don't see much difference in the accuracy at lower tier, and the USA seem to have good arcs. Am I missing something? I don't think I have played more than 1 game, ever, in arty, so advice gladly taken.

To hit a moving light tank at full speed you just have to predict where he is going and aim at that spot. I play tons of light tanks and people move in patterns or withdraw in a straight line.

The American ones are great tbh, I really enjoyed the M12

Not particularly great for missions since it lacks stun and even a bunch of the StuG Missions I assume have crap like "do x amount of stun in a game".

Nope.

The German line is pretty bad after the Hummel.  The Lorraines in the French line can be good for some missions but lack a wide splash radius.

For missions I'd go with the US line, more flexible and better stun/damage potential than other lines.

Only have two arty at the moment.  Arty isn't really a thing i play much to be honest... but i do enjoy the change of gameplay from time to time, especially to escape  frustrating bad or defeat streaks. Or simply for something totally different.

Currently only have The M40/M43  and  the  Lorraine 155 mle. 50. The tier VII one.

I would recommend the US line for sure., im having  fun in them. Currently in the M40/M43  and i love it ( aced  it  not long ago to be honest, and im having good games in it recently) ..  very slow but great gun the last one imo.

Aiming for the M50/M55 tier IX arty. Wich is supposedly better.  ( i enjoyed the M12 as well btw).

Didn't liked the French arty as much to be honest. Safe for the AMX 13 F3 AM.

I hear the German Arty is good as well,  more accurate,

Hear ppl talking good about the GW series, especially the GW panther. But im yet to try it. ( tempted to buy  the Hummel to get the GW panther) When its on sale or something.

Just to try it out.  But it isnt really a priority since i dont play arty that much anyway.

Obviously personal preference will always be a factor, but the ones I've kept in my garage and regularly play, depending on the mission, are:

3. Bison

4. Pz.IVb

5. LeFH

6. M44, SU-8, AMX 13 F3

7. GW Panther

8. Lorr 155 51

9. M53/M55, BC 155 55

X. ALL

.

No way, I love my yankee dandies, at about tier 8 though it starts to become expensive for the premium ammo, but never feel guilty of playing arty, guilt is conformity, conformity is a weakness, be strong an hammer down like a god:trollface:

That said i am grinding the german line, not sure how good the Hummel is but I hope it is better than the grille.

Plus when the weekend comes and all the kids come online it is pure joy to play:D

The M44 is still a good all-around SPG at tier 6.  It can do useful damage to the tier 8's you're going to get put up against.

Decent reload and aim time with rammer and gun laying drive.

I run binos on mine and the extra view range has saved me more than once.

You're going to be team-dependant, so forget about your stats for a while.

M44 at tier 6 is completely broken,

tier 9 is considered better than the tier 10, and overall

probably the best arty piece in the tier.

There is no need to play arty. If you complete the last 15th mission of each of the other 4 classes with honors, you get enough of those certificate things to skip arty. :great:
