Please at 1,671 battles please do not jump into a tier VIII and expect to be very effective or make much silver.

With that limited battle number buy a tier VI such as T34-85M, T34-85 Rudy, Fury, Firefly, Loza's, or the other premium Sherman. You are more likely to hit a few shoots in them and so will average more silver than in a tier VIII.

If you do not want that advice, and really are intent on jumping to tier VIII and being someone else's cannon fodder, then Lowe, because it has some armour and health to do some damage before you die.

That and nobody expects a Lowe driver to be any good anyway.

Sgt_Lector, don't waste your money.  The Firefly in the premium shop currently will be more than adequate for your needs right now.

[edit] Or just stick with your Type 64.

Tier 8 MM is broken atm. you will see tier X most the time and be top 3 in 3/5/7 maybe once every couple of hours. Whatever you buy it will be a struggle with this MM especially if you are an inexperienced player learning the game.

Don't waste your hard earned cash on any tier 8 premium until the MM template is changed.

Avoid tier 8 at all cost if possible. (Unless we talking about FL...)

this really ^

its best to have a go at some of the tech tree T6's and see what you like. if you for example, really loved the E8, (T6 American med) then something like the fury etc.. you might get on with or you might really love the KV-2, with which the premium one would be a good choice (when/if it comes on sale again)

its not all about the top tiers. the game can give you what you want in any of the tiers... if you let it :)

Churchill III for a start. You'll also need it for craploads of russian crew members. I've heard that the T-34-85M is also a good choice. Buy both maybe? You'll need a russian MT Crew trainer as well.

I would say WZ-120-1G FT is the best Premium that is avalable at the moment.

A few months ago I would have suggested the Superpershing. Frontal armor, weak spots that can be handled, acceptable gun, like 20k credits just for showing up in battle. Sadly its future is uncertain due to the announced changes in pref matchmaking. The speed is a mixed blessing though, you cannot run into trouble as fast but you also can not escape it if it hunts you down ^^

Still, it is the cheapest and most forgiving tier 8 prem tank in my garage - and I got it when I was definetly not ready for it. On this tank I learned more about weak spots, positioning and map awareness than on any other tank I've ever played :)

I was going to use the 30% off token to get the centurion raac but the token doesn't work with specials or limited time offers, basically it's a poor gesture thanking us for being with them for so many years. At the price it is now there is no way I'm gonna buy it or any of the others.

My advice, buy a new piece of kit for your p.c., maybe a new set of headphones if you feel a hole burning in your pocket.

This is important.

T8 MM is completely brutal. I've grinded two T10 tanks now and T9 is easier to play than T8 as you are only ever vs +1 tier higher and your gun will often have high pen that can mix it at the top.

I'd say T8 is the hardest tier to play on Random Battles currently...

your question is too generic, you should specify what class you like to play the most, or people will just suggest their favourite tank, which may or may not fit your playstyle.

As others have said jumping to tier 8 premiums without a tier 8 tank already is not a good idea, especially in the current meta where you will see A LOT of tier 10 MM, save your cash. For the price of one tier 8 you can pick up at least two tier 6 tanks and you are better off learning the game there for a bit.

If you want to invest in the game then I would highly recommend getting tanks like the Tiger 131, Rudy, Thunderbolt, Cromwell B,  etc. these are very good investments for new players not only because they are solid tier 6 premiums, but they also come with free BIA crews. (some of the packages also come with XP missions to faster level up crews)

If you use them, stick some crew boosters and xp boosters on (you will pick these up from missions in game), you will be able to quickly train up 2-3 skill crews and will make decent credits at the same time, you will then have good crews to use on new tech tree lines and higher tier tanks you unlock as having good crews at tiers 8-10 is important.

These sort of packages are very good options for newer players as they allow you to 'catch up' a bit with more experienced players.

They are not regularly in the premium shop but will pop up several times a year so just keep your eye on the premium shop. Getting like a Rudy or a Tiger 131 is a much better investment at the moment for you than getting like a Lowe or STA-2 or whatever.

Tier VIII means tier IX stock tank...

that's what tier VIII's are this days, its like like playing tier IX's stock tanks...

Because if you play tier 8 during 100 games, during 95 games you will play 3-5-7 vs tier IX's and X's.

So if you wanna buy a tier 8 premium try to think which one is more resilient to tier X gun's... i personally like the Lowe, but i recognize its not a tank for everyone.

other people like the Skorpion G, and i found my self having terrible games in mine... so, its all about a matter of taste.
