With the recent banwave going around I was asking myself how many cheaters are there in WOT, and what do the forumites think of it.

The article says 2807 warnings were given and 782 bans. With a quick google search I found out that there are around 700k active players on the EU server (corect me if I am wrong), wich means that a whopping 0.4% of players got a warning, and 0.1% got banned. I think most of us can agree that WOT hasnt really the reputation of having a really good anti cheat system, so probably these numbers are just the tip of the iceberg. Its not that i personly have suffer from cheaters but I think that around 3%-5% are cheating but thats just a gut feeling. What do you think? Luckily altough WOT might not have the best anti cheat system, due to serverside calculations cheats cant do much otherwise we would probably have GTA kinda senarios  :)

And that's the thing. You can't cheat like in other shooters because your client has no control over what happens with the data that is sent back and forth between clients because a server acts as game master effectively blocking direct contact.

If everything in the universe, including atoms and particles stop moving, does time stop? or does time continue even if everything is frozen?

Time continues as always. Time we observe stops for us. What we observe isn't everything.

Time doesn't exist. We invented the concept.

He said "everything in the universe", not "everything we observe in the universe".

One could say that, by having the same entropy everywhere in the universe, as in, energy levels, the concept of time stops making sense. Which is the actual fate of the universe, when the last black hole ceases to exist

Lol I go to sleep with a discussion over cheaters, I wake up with a discussion over time and existence. :)

700k? 100k-150k active in last month => that % is bigger... + a lot of them are not caught

Any one beating me is a cheater, no other possibilities. Any one losing with me is part of this conspiracy.

Any one winning with me with more xp cheated.

Any one losing against me just had a bugged cheat mode, or maybe (but unlickely) had no cheat mode.

=> more than 80%. That's final.

Things that people have pointed out being cheating in my private chat:

#1 shooting from distance

#2 shooting while double bushed

#3 snapshots that hit

#4 bouncing shots by angling armor

#5 using terrain to benefit from tough turret and gun depression

I'd say most players willingly or by accident are guilty of some of these. So yes, everybody cheats!

20-30% i would say.

In WoWS the number seems to be even higher.

Not very high and a those that do are largely inconsequential IMO considering that most cheats can't do that much due to the server side calculations.

Even probably what I would describe as the worst cheat, the destroyed object one, is really only impactful in clan modes, in randoms it has limited benefits, especially in the corridor close brawling meta we have.

Aimbots are meh IMO, from what I have seen any semi-competent player will aim as well if not better and as we know from the orange bobs that spam premium ammo all day, hitting and penning your target is the least thing to worry about, it;s actually being in the right positions and being aware of what is going on that matters.

I'd reckon compared to most multiplayer games out there WOT is relatively cheat free.

80% of players think WASD is a cheat so I think the number of actual cheaters is very small.

The only real answer is that everyone is cheating except me :)

Judging by the people who came here to complain about cheating, it should be roughly 95% of the playerbase.

My feels would say 1-2%. But if you take XVM and the other obvious cheatmods into account that are allowed because of reasons, it would turn into a two digit number...

I voted 3-5% because I read somewhere, on the internet, that it was that figure based on someones gut feeling.

Therefore it must be true.

It was on the internet.

It was someones gut feeling.

Proof positive.

The only slight niggle of doubt is I havent seen in the Daily Mail yet.
