We really shouldn’t be getting ahead of ourselves and say it’s coming home but it’s coming home.

Not sure if you are talking about taking a dump or about boring football.

I have nothing against England, but that utter anti-football as displayed by the national team has no business being in the semi-final. Ugh. I sincerely hope Croatia will beat Russia this evening, and then proceed to thrash England next. Again, nothing against the country or the team in general, but their style of play, and complete lack of technique and creativity, is just an affront to football. If that is 'football coming home', I'll switch to watching some other sport soon.

Come on Alice, I had you down as clever.

England are there, it has EVERY place in the semi-final, because we're there. We're better than the other 28 nations.

Thats how it works mate.

That’s the first time in a long while I can remember us playing a same tier side and thinking that we’re not going to lose this one. Southgate obviously did his homework and realised that exploiting the wings and crosses into the box was the way to go.

Never in danger mate.

I agree, and as the commentators said at the start Sweden were very uncomfortable with being stretched. The wings played a massive part.

A knighthood for Sir Southgate and Sir Pickford is in order.

Nah, you've simply managed to get farther than the 28 other nations. Furthermore, you've only played 4 of those nations (as Belgium advanced, not included in the 28). Doesn't make you better in my book. Certainly not when playing in that horrid way. Most English seem to still have the boxes around their shoes, otherwise I have no idea how to explain the lack of technique, flair. If it weren't plain obvious yet, football is played by foreigners in the Premier League. The English are there for the dirty work. Nothing more. So no, it isn't coming home with the English national team. :P

Regardless, it's the results which count and based on those England went through fair and square. And that indeed is how it works.

Edit: I suppose the English could say 'Football is coming home' when Belgium wins the World Cup...

I’ve got to say I didn’t realise quite what depth of ignorance you have about football.

Belgium have to beat France first.

Every nation has a "golden generation" as it were.

Germanys has just flopped, at their last time of asking,

Brazils GG consists of one "man" who spent more time rolling on the floor than he did in the penalty area and had more haircuts than he scored goals.

Spains dominance is well and truly over.

France, England and Belgium all now have a chance to dominate world football for a while.

Opinions may differ, but the only certainty is that Europe dominates world football once again.

We've never talked about football before, so whatever you assumed obviously was wrong. Regardless, I could say the same about you. I've seen the game, I've seen the previous one against Columbia. I've seen plenty of the group stage, and England is appalling to watch. Like most teams sadly.

I mean, this kind of negativity only sets the hearts on fire bud.

We have played as every team we've played has not wanted us to play. Think of England as thinking you've taken a flank in WOT and then run into the 5 base camping tds that you got over confident for.

Belgium wanted to lose, we were better at losing than them.

Columbia wanted to suck  us into getting sent off as  they couldn't win. It didn't work.

Sweden thought we would play through the middle, we didn't, and they lost.

Come on man. Just get behind it.

Southgate for a knighthood.

If what you say is true, and your opinion is correct. Isn't that even more incredible? We had an outside, very far outside, chance of making it 3 weeks ago. We are now second favourite to win it.
