I mean, I was really excited about it and enjoyed the hell out of it on my brother's computer with below average performance. It's poorly optimized and ran like hell on mine. Random battles are playable, still, but I'd love to play more. Also, it was really fun on the beginning until players decided to be crap. Moving from one front to another and losing it... Everything else was just amazing. I don't think it should be moved from Tier 8, though. At least adding a Tier 10 Frontline and separating them to EU1 and EU2.

tier 10 unicorns can get the crappy laggy eu2 :hiding:

They will seriously nerf the credit/xp you can earn when it does come back.

That, or it's not on tier 8.

But going by the tankfest Q&A, they want it back. But they need to sort out a heap of issues with it first.

I thought they always intended for it to come back at the end of July.

It's low enough even in a superb battle. A player like me unloading least shells out in the empty and dying as least as possible could get 30k profit max in a battle in Frontline.

are you kidding me?

Spoiler

Even without the Credit boosters this would still be nearly 400k profit

and this is not even the max. possible i saw Players with way more Credits earned in a single battle than that, frontline was by far the best Gamemode to farm Credits.

I seriously hope that Wg is not gonna touch the Creditincome when they bring Frontline back,as it was pretty much the only reason to play it for me.

And btw. i don`t think that we will see Frontline come back in the near Future,my guess is that we will see the next season of ranked Battles in thhe very near Future(as the badges for that are already in the Game) and maybe a few Months after that we will see it return (if wargaming fixed all the "problems" with that mode by that time.)

I don't get the fuss about the credits, people were getting wowed by bigger numbers after playing for 20 - 25 minutes, but playing tier 8 prems, with credit boosters and clan boosters you'd make the same amount of credits over a similar time.

The only advantage was it was all tier 8, so you'd consistently be more competitive and wouldn't need as much premium ammo compared to randoms where you face lots of tier 10s.

I'm not a good player, though. I also don't buy premium time.

Probably, but only in the other regions not in the WG nether region that is the EU. Unless it goes through a massive 'readjustment' comprising any or all of the following: not for tier 8, only for premium tanks, 'adjusted' earnings, rebalancing (flanking removed, corridor style play reinforced)...

Did I leave out anything?

No need for the totally unbalanced tier 10 to be added. Rather have a tier 9 season.

A: Yes, it’s decided. Frontline will make a return, hopefully this year, although we can’t be sure."

I'm guessing they'll put Defender plus all the other fotm premiums in the premium shop when this happens.

I hope it does come back.  Same tier 8 is good as I could get my lowe out of the cobwebs.   Stopped playing as too many T 10 battles made it boring.

Would also like to see it at T 3 and T 5.    but it should not have any +1 or 2 MM EVER AT ALL or it will be ruined.

That's the exact point - you don't have to deal with BS tier 10s at all. On randoms, you deal with them all the time. So credit grinding is significantly more enjoyable there.

Not just that, you DO get more credits overall from playing Frontline. If you consistently get full tier 8 games, then yes, you will make approx as much on randoms. But that almost never happens.

I don't need FL.

If I want low XP/min. I play tier 2 gift tanks.

If I want to lose credits I grind my tier 8&9.

Block Quote

Q: Why was Frontline an event, and not a permanent mode?
A: We wanted to try it out at all. Long have we checked how this idea will be received, eg. on the sandbox. It turned out the mode is worth trying out, and it made the recipients curious. The next step was implementing new mechanics, (9 sq. kilometers, like 9 normal maps), and checking if both the client and server will manage. The tech side was complicated, and we didn’t have time to tune the meta of this kind of gameplay, nor to balance it enough to implement it permanently. This was a very good trial for us, and gave us a lot of valuable feedback and data necessary to fine-tune the mode.

Q: So it’s 100% sure it  will return?
A: Yes, it’s decided. Frontline will make a return, hopefully this year, although we can’t be sure. We want it to be an alternative, but not as something readily available, but maybe in seasons, once a month, or more… Everything is still to be discussed, and we’re sure the concept has a lot of potential. We know about balance (A-D line) or optimization problems, and we’ll focus on those.

Q: Why do you think this event gathers more attention than the others?
A: It’s totally different. We have a lot of players and enormous maps. Creating such a big map is one helluva problem from a gameplay quality perspective. Besides the maps have to be optimized for all the things that happen on them. We also introduced a lot of new mechanics, like repairs, respawns, progression system, battle skills, skill enhancements… It’s probably the most new elements we introduced at the same time, and it worked!

We know what we must fix, and definitely improve the clarity of the rules. It’s good if the players won’t suffer a lot in case of a loss, take revenge on those who destroyed them. This is what kept people in this mode.
