I've FINALLY got past the 5000 mark with the bond things and was planning to get the improved vents as its a 50% boost over standard vents whereas most other things seem to only be a 20-25% boost over the standard equipment they replace

But as I probably wont live long enough to earn enough to get another item I thought I would ask what others recommend especially anyone who has bought several of the items and found that some make smaller or larger differences than expected based just on the numbers alone

I did consider getting the improved gun rammer for my leafy when I buy it but I would be too worried someone would track me down and stab me if I did lol :)

Absolutely no idea what vehicle to use it on as yet, but might wait till I get either the new russian tier 10 heavy or the T62A. but it will probably end up in a heavy or medium as I ruled out using it on the 268 v4 to counteract the nerfs

50%?

Don't forget that a 5% boost to training level is actually less than 2.5% boost to performance.

Personally I think the improved equipment costs far too many bonds for the minor improvement.  You can get the same effect as improved vents for 12 bonds per battle.  And you can put that on any tank which has vents.  Once you mount improved equipment it costs even more bonds to move it.

What I meant there is its a 50% improvement over standard vents (5% chances to 7.5%), wheres many of the others only go from 10% (standard) to 12.5%) improved which is only a 25% increase

I know everything roughly halves because its only the crew component that it boosts, but I was just referring to the amount of difference they give compared to the normal version not the improvement they give to the vehicle

And tbh I rarely play tier 10 once the TOTT is finished, so earning bonds to keep renting them would run out pretty quickly, whereas buying even one in a tank I use a lot would be more beneficial over time, picking which tank to put it in though will be so hard I might never spend them at all ever lol :)

I keep them for the end of the world as the change of 0.04 second doesn't do much for me. I would suggest you to play in "comparison tab" with standard and improved equipment and do the calculation again as that 50% it is not what you think.

For me it is just new marketing tool by WG to fool sheep into consumption trance. Which one you like more, 50% or 0,04 second?

Doh, I keep forgetting about the in game comparison doodah, cheers for that

Might be worth seeing if it will get my deathstar to 445m view range and free up a slot lol

TBH, I don't think it would exactly kill WG to maybe have a daily mission with some menial task where you have to do a daily task for maybe 10 bonds. It would only add up to 3650 per year so its hardly going to change the landscape much and would be good for people who don't regularly play tier 10s

Plus from the business side of things, something that costs nothing (as they aren't sold (YET)) but makes people log in more often has a good chance of improving gold and other premium item sales too

When bonds appeared i was like "YAY, 25% more, 50% more". Then i started comparing them and WTF moment appeared.

For example:

T110E4

  • aiming time 2,39 -> 2,34 = 0,04 LOL
  • reload time 15,92 -> 15,48 = 0,44

T110E5

  • reload time 8,17 -> 7,94 = 0,23
  • aiming time 1,65 -> 1,62 = 0,03 LOL

I would have to be a cyborg connected to the computer to feel any difference in some of those timings.

Yeah some of the normal ones are bad on the wrong tank too

Until I really paid attention to them I had gun laying drives on tanks with fairly quick aim times and some rammers on tanks with a quick reload already instead of putting them on tanks with larger initial values until I realised just how little they did for the slot they occupied

The best use of the bonds (which I have far less than what you have) for me was for directives in Frontline mode. Mostly to increase DPM (the rammer thingy). As directives are kept through respawns you get far more use of them than in other modes... Can't wait to see FL back

I would get the optics thingie. Looking at my M46 I would boost VR with 11 meters which isn´t something to sneer at.

On some occasions I've used them to get 6th sense for my fresh crews but I guess it's kinda "expensive" as it is quite rare resource. So currently I just don't use them for anything. Might buy improved rammer for M53/55 if I ever reach the obj260 missions, but that seems quite far fetched atm.

I use them for the firefighter skill and use food on my T10 Tanks as it only costs 2 bonds I am earning more then spending.

The difference is marginable; however russian streamer Evil_GrannY managed over 4k DPM on his T95E6 through full improved equipment,crew stats,consumables and directives.

Except the vents are bugged and actually only give you a 7% improvement (noticed by tests on the German forum), so they're only 40% better than normal vents. Not that it really matters, as other have said the actual improvement is minimal anyway. You'd probably get much more out of your bonds by using the firefighting directive and replace fire extinguisher with food to get an extra 10% bonus for your crew.

What is your end goal, when it comes to improving the equipment on your tanks using bonds?  Is it to have more fun in the tank or for the tank to be more competitive?

The biggest boost of any of the kit is the super toolbox.  It adds 40% to repair over the regular box's 25%. Imagine a heavy tank with 155+% repair (running the large repair kit which gives 15%). You'd not stay tracked for long. But not everyone is prepared to give up an equipment slot.

WG has told us that they will put tanks on sale for bonds at some point. I am saving my bonds for that, since 5k bonds for marginal improvment for a single tank seems bit toi much.

Yup. Waiting on those tanks also. 15k and nothing to use them on. I'd even consider buying Foch155 if it were available.

13,065 at the moment and i only buy directives. improved equipment is completely useless ( i don't even use food unless competitive) so what's the point.

I have however managed to get my E25 VR out to 446 with optical stuff which is superb

Was thinking about buying the improved rammer too but now maybe waiting is the better idea.

I got tired of waiting for something that may never come so I decided to pimp out my Super Conq. Over 500 meters of view range without food is pretty decent for a heavy, I must say.
