You can have more than 7.

Why would you think you couldn't?

What a waste. Like you need a 7-skill loader. Better to use them as commanders or in tanks where they have many roles per crew (like the batchat)

Actually, you don't even need that many skills in a non-loader crew member; in the case of a female/non-swedish crew, having just 4-5 skills per crew member makes you a king.

I hate leo1 + lights commanders, they act as radio operators aswell so  you need a full 5 skill crew to have the important ones ( bia-6th-recon-awareness-camo)

Just onto 7th on one of mine but the XP needed to get to 8 is enormous....

Remember trying on one of the CT's using that big pot of gold managed to get either 10 or 11 on one crew....

Plus skills are a bit over-rated.

Ok it gives some little buffs.

But they won't transform a meh player in an unicum one, put him on the map's good place, aim the weak spots or make shells bounce.

Yeah, it kind of sucks.

Funny thing is, the t10 patton happens to be not only the medium with the most view range in the game, but also one of the few tanks that have the loader act as the RO(as if, patton's view range needs to be buffed further xD )

Just about to get a 6th crew skill, but I don't bother moving crews around. Hitting the 8th is going to take a long time for me.

Yeah I hate that too, on the Skorpion G they made a commander/loader which is great "though doesn't match any other german TD"

So I have to train 3 of my RHM Borsig crew members and then the radio operator off the Jagdtiger.

It may not be that common historically but in game terms it works well to have the commander loading the shells

Why would you have 7 skills and not have a 100% repairs? Repairs is way more important than most other skills and yet you are training it as your 8th on the commander.

One of good things about high tier British MT/HT crews is that Radio Operator function is on Loader, and not on Commander.

Make getting good skills much easier.

Having Radio Operator on Commander make getting all good skills much harder as you said.

After BIA, repairs and 1 role specific skill I generally just leave crew XP to offset changing tanks. Maybe Camo in lights and some meds.

WG need to rework skills, going beyond 4 is a waste of time for non commander crew.

INHO, repairs should be one of the first skills, if not the first.

WG mentioned crew skills getting reworked completely in the future, and they mentioned that back in February, so grinding crew skills like a madman right now doesn't feel worth it until we know what they'll do with them.
