I want to buy this tank but I think its a bit expensive. Is it worth? I heard its not too fun and reliable like it was 3-4 years ago like the e-25. Is the tank still strong?

Only fun in the end game imo, when the team relies on your view range. Tbf, on big open maps it just misses all the time.

It is worth buying but - it used to be a lot stronger vehicle.

Seen one in battle just now. Fired 24 shots and only 3 hit. Did 380 damage in total. Enemy Grille fired 7 shots, 2 hit. 580 damage in total.

Because it would be paying money to sit in the back and click. That can't be right. And look at its price tag. You can buy four(!) tanks of the same tier for that money. That can't be right.

If it's not right it's wrong.

It was tier 4 some year(s) ago.

Arguements:

Pros:

- has tier 4 heavy tank armor. It can sometimes angle and bounce shot.

- it has 390m base view range.

- It's only tier 5

- it has excellent penetration for an arty

- -4° gun depression which also makes it good at shotgun mode

- it has 3 types of shells - HE, AP, HEAT

- it is heavy - a medium tank rammed himself to death trying to ram me the other day. Doesn't happen often, but it happens and it's nice when it does.

- has gun range over most of the maps (unlike some low tier arties, Bishop, FV304...)

- HE ammo is cheap so makes ok credits considering it's only a tier 5 arty

- trains crew well, if you're going up French arty line - it's very useful

- doesn't feel that weak when it gets bad matchmaking

- gun arc is 15 degrees to the left and to the right which is not bad

Cons:

- you can only buy it bundled

- armor almost never works because of the matchmaking but hey - it's an arty so that's fine

- doesn't see tier 3 tanks anymore like it did before

- very bad engine power, bad at relocating

- almost no splash, no stun - you have to aim for direct hits or tracking shots

- most of the time it sees tier 7 battles

- doesn't have much HP

- the gun trolls a lot and shells don't land where you want them to

- in a decent game, you can ran out of ammo

- camo rating is trash

- gun trajectory is a bit flat and awkward when shooting over obstacles, shell travel time is long

- bad mobility + fast rate of fire make you lazy to relocate and vulnerable to being counter-batteried by enemy arty

People are saying "No" to deter you from buying it as they dislike SPGs.

See this vehicle as you would as if were any other.

Do you want need a french SPG trainer?

Do you need a premium vehicle for the premium benefits?

If the answer is yes, get it. If not don't get it.

I had considered buying it myself & just playing counter arty all day, but then I saw the price.  Seriously, they're selling the Centurion Mk 5/1 for less!

Then there's the issue with it still being in a pre arty rebalance state.  Given that WG are now in the process of removing PMM from premium tanks & rebalancing them, has there any confirmation from WG that they are not also considering the same for premium tanks that have benefited from rebalances to their class as a whole?  Clearly older prem td's (e25 in particular) benefited from all other td's losing more camo after firing & older prem light tanks from the tier change for all other lights.  I'd be cautious about buying any of these tanks at present given that WG suddenly seem willing to make changes to premium tanks.

To answer the OPs question tho:  If you enjoy playing arty then you should probably buy it if you can spare the cash as you may not get another chance to buy a prem arty, or if you do it'll still be the lefh anyway.  AFAIK there are currently no further prem arty, or regular arty for that matter, in the pipeline.

They no longer try to balance the game it seems, just milking this cow dry.

In that case you'll probably buy it and feel very, very frustrated by the cons listed above.

It takes a while to work out where to go on maps to be most effective, and as the gun trolls you a lot with RNG it can be very frustrating.
