I've tried fishing. It bored the crap out of me.

Sorry.

Even though we have a river at the bottom of the garden, no fishing, just kayaking.

No need to apologise my good man, although I am exceptionally jealous of that river in your garden:amazed:

I think the key to enjoying fishing is realising it’s just an excuse to sit outside with a few beers and some mates. The enjoyment factor seems to be almost completely unaffected even if you don’t take a fishing rod.

And that sir is exactly why I go - the fish just aren't important - it's all about fishING:)

Certainly no WoT for me today. I’ve done the food shopping for the weekend, spent a bit of time outside making a start of doing my Tamiya Cromwell, which I’m intending to do as a WoT Cromwell B, and I’m now sitting down in the pub having a few beers and reading the forum/newspaper. The plan for tonight, a nice roast chicken with some veg and potatoes.

Any veg in particular?

Bought furniture for my balcony. Now, wife is lying on the sunbed, and we are having some nice Munich beer. Later BBQ with all the neighbours at our new place here.

Nothing quite beats beer & bbq does it?:)

Good news! The aircon only needed re-gassing, my concerns that there was a leak in the system was unfounded!

Bad news! I couldn't get the audio drivers to work no matter what I did and then I couldn't get Realtek to reinstall properly to give me back what was working previously.

Good news! Eventually found an obscure link to download the original drivers for my motherboard and finally got Realtek running again so that I can ignore the headphones being plugged in permanently. Seems a bit pointless that that's the only reason to run another audio thing but that's the joy of a modern OS on a rather old PC.

Predictable news! Now I'm thinking of doing a fresh install because I like things to be neat and can't help myself.

Just as a secondary hobby, nothing fancy. Started five years ago. It's quite relaxing and really a joy in the evening hours.

But I can't fire backwards and my arrows don't go "boom" when they hit something. Quite disappointing, I know... :(

btw: Dropped all the work and decided to have a lazy day instead. It's definitely time for holiday...

What's a cassette player, Grandad? It's an older car but the previous owner fitted a digital radio/CD player. :P

I only wish I could get the AUX lead thing to work with my phone. I could google the manual and sort out what's needed but really all I'd want it for is to charge my phone when I'm using it as a sat-nav rather than running a cable from the cigarette lighter and quite frankly I can't be arsed.

Today's alternative: sunbathing at our favorite place at Starnberger See with view at the Alps.

Nice choice of whisky there. Which one in particular?

It is one from an independent label. The German Islay Cask Company produced together with the Caol Ila Distillery the 'Calla'. That is a Caol Ila with a 4-month-finish in a Pinot Noir Barrique Red Wine cask.

They used this one: CAOL ILA. Cask No. 311072, distilled on 5. Juni 2008, so that is 9.5 years in the original cask and then 4 month finishing.

I'm lucky to have a old style wine merchant/spirits retailer a stones throw from my house - dear lord they have some wonderful things in there.

Great to have such a thing. Had an absolutely amazing place for whisky at my former town, where the owners combined a bar with a shop for whisky with almost 600 different bottles on the menue.

Now I have also a really good expert shop for that (minus the bar) also about 10 minutes by bike from my new place.
