As a player with 18k games played so far, I've only now thought of it. I don't recall destroyed tanks bouncing shells in my whole WoT experience. Maybe they do and I just haven't realised it.

And so the question stands: Do shells bounce off destroyed tanks?

Destroyed tanks act like rocks I guess.

I don't think you can ricochet of a destroyed tank to hit another tank.

No. Shots get absorbed by the destroyed vehicle.

No. They turn into solid objects.

You never used deads as cover in 18K games?

If you mean player tanks, yes they do bounce off.

if you sit in your dead tank the sound of shells hitting it sound like ricochets to me.

The next thing they will ask is why we stay in our dead tanks...:hiding:

Always nice to have a doze somewhere you're not likely to be disturbed. :)

I think what OP means is are the usual armor mechanics still calculated for destroyed vehicles (so....bounces ricochets etc) or do they just turn solid. Suppose it would affect if you could shoot through tracks and stuff.

because you can hear the enemy drive past even if you cant see them, so can give location info.

As someone who plays a lot of arty, my crews tell me that it is because they are terrified of how the enemy will treat them if they are captured. It is far better to stay hidden in the vehicle and pray that your team are victorious.
