Hiya tankers!

I regularly see posts by people wondering which premium is a good credit maker, is considered beginner / noob-friendly, trains a crew well, great for personal missions, or is considered "the best" (i.e. P2W) etc etc. So, following up from my previous posts regarding which non premium tanks per tier and class were considered must-haves (see link), I figured I would start another poll, but this time regarding nice-to-have(N2H)* premium tanks, continuing from the Light and Medium Tanks (see links below) with Heavy Tanks.

Btw: If you have any suggestions to improve the poll, including if and how I am going to showcase the final results, let me know!

Also, please highlight why you picked those tanks as N2H. Maybe one is iconic? Maybe another is just pure fun no matter the MM and / or outcome? Maybe that one is perfect for crew training due to (hidden) modifiers, and another prints credits, etc etc. Help a noob the players understand why you made whatever choice you made for premium tanks to be labelled N2H.

Note: I tried to exclude those premiums that are not available to the general public either once a year, through vote for your dream tank specials, or the regular premium store, but I could have missed one so please let me know when I forgot to include or exclude something!

Excluded:

- IS-5 (Ob. 730)

- Fv215b

- Obj. 260

- VK 72.01 (K)

Thanks for voting!

~Dutch

* I say nice-to-have in stead of must-have like I did with the regular tank tree polls, because those you can acquire as a f2p player, and I am not going to encourage / endorse people spending actual money due to perceived peer pressure. Whether you want to & will spend money on this game is entirely up to you.

Note: Maybe too much to hope for, but please refrain from negatively commenting on each other's highlighted tank. This is not intended to be a thread to discuss the pen & alpha of tank A vs tank B and thus why you think tank B is better etc, and definately not a rage-topic about 3-5-7 MM or PMM. If you disagree with someone, just close the thread and read something else. GL & HF!

Churchil III - fantastic crew trainer.

Lowe - good credits and viable & competetive since the last buff.

Sad but true

KV-5 - used to be awesome, but now lacks penetration.

IS6 - used to be awesome, tier VIII super heavies destroyed its niche.

FCM - used to be awesome, great for players who did not have a Type 59 (it's faster than a Hype 59 around the battlefield), but now so power crept it's useless. Used to be the best medium in the premium shop (yes I know it's labelled a "heavy" but that was never really the way to play it).

Defender = best premium heavy in the game.

Tiger 131 is worth it for the crew.

The limited tier 5s like the Churchill III, KV-220-2 are solid.

And the Pz. B2 is funny for seal clubbing with it's only tier 4 MM.

Mutant, FCM 50, TOG, Churchill 3, KV-220-2 and KV-5 for their unique gameplay,

WZ111 and 112 for being well rounded preferentials,

Somua for being a generally nice tank ^^

Obviously Mauerbrecher, as its got "ultra thick" armor and amazing 440 alpha gun. because of this its obviously better than Defender.

VK45.03 - Great gunhandling and good pen for a tier7. Has credit coefficient of a tier8 premium. Can fill all sorts of roles depending on whether it's top, mid or bottom tier. Good view range as the german heavies tend to have gives nice extra credits and exp. Has similar crew layout of Tiger l, Tiger ll and E75. My favourite (premium) tank in the game.

Löwe - Probably the strongest heavy tank for credit making that is available all the time. Solid turret, great gun and good ufp.

Paytriot - The icon of power creep. Fast, great pen, awesome dpm, invulnerable when hulldown, good depression to go with it.

Lowe is still a good credit maker for me out of the HT's. And one of the most balanced tier 8 prem's IMO. But not very noob friendly if you will at the same time. It still punishes mistakes badly. But still works in a +2 game as support. As the turret still can bounce a few if you hide the hull even then.

New player friendly I would say the Churchill III. Unlike the other tier 5 HT's and the B2. It's pen is not on sub 100. Thus more forgiving. No point having forgiving armor, if you can't pen most targets that have a slight angle with normal ammo.

Personal Mission tanks? That depends on for what reward tank. Even the B2 is good for the Stug missions. And the KV-220 did HT-15 for me on one etc. Higher up the Patriot might be better suited as the Defender is not for sale atm.

Crew trainers? Well, then anything works tbh. As long as you do damage and get XP in it. It works. But Churchill III is a no brainer there due to the bonus XP for the balance weight factor that's higher than anyone. Even the Excelsior and B2 have trained lots of crews for me rather well.

Well defender seems to fill tiers 6-10 nicely so.. There's the B2 clone to fill the 3-4 gap and uhhh... Church 3 for tier 5?

T34 - Even as it has quite poor gunhandling and weak roof on it's turret & paper hull and it's slow and unmaneuverable, I still think it's a good premium tank. The upsides being semi-reliable turret (front) and very good standard AP pen with good alpha dmg. For some reason it's just pouring credits compared to my other premiums.

I think this is what premium tanks should be. Tanks with pros and cons. When you play them more and more you learn how to deal with the bad stuff and how to make your good stuff work.

How could Tiger 131 get so many votes? I recently played it and in my opinion it's a very very very very very bad tank.

It's got an ok gun and a mantlet that occasionally bounces. Not too sluggish either. Got a good view range compared to other heavies at tier6. Why do you think it's a "very very very very very bad tank"?

more importantly - why does it fare batter than the Japanese Tiger which is virually identical? Can't be just the crew ^^

Well. Just off the top of my head: A new player starts the game and his friend recommends him to start the japanese heavies because they've got good armor and big derp guns so they're sort of noob friendly starters. Ok, so the new guy sucks in this game because he's a new guy and decides, it's because stupid bot teams and statpadders that have better crews than him. Which is probably true. So with the grand experience of derping heavies he decides to go and try the Heavy tank #6 and plays it like he'd play O-I.

---> profit.

Just an idea. :child:

KV-220-2, TOG II* and KV-2R for the LOLs

Tiger131 and IS-2 because historical tanks

Lowe because is a good HT with really good pen and turret

I added KV-5 too for the ramming capabilities. It's a tank that I allways looked at, thanks to the high speed and the playstyle that combine KV-4 with an MT.

might be the reason - or the fact that it is after all a J-Heavy instead of a G-Heavy with Germany having way more heavies to grind/train crews for...

Who the hell voted for the KV-122?

I mean, I can understand some people might like it, on the same basis that some people like having hot candle wax dripped onto their ballsack, but still...
