Both are good. Try not to go ahead alone when you elite your t-10, that was my main problem with it : being too far from support : arty still moving, etc.

If 277 only had 7 degrees of gun depression, it would be perfect in my opinion.

Obj 277 is rewarding good players with over 52% win rate but punishing those with lower than 50%.

IS7 is rewarding players with 56% overall, suggesting a high degree of skill is needed to get best out of this tank.

Therefore safest bet is Obj 277

Get Both, and Add the 705A to your List as well....

As a Whole, I think the IS Line is a Well Rounded line guving Options for Play Styles.....       It's also probably the most User Friendly Line in WoT right now, barring the IS-M, which most aren't over thrilled with....

Though the XP Grind to the 277 to me makes no Sense, seems kinda High really.....       But I have the IS7, and on my Disfunctional Crew can still manage a 50% WR....        The 277 is a Better T-10 overall making it one of the Best In Class Mediums around....       And the 705A is a Monster when you get it Set and Angled right holding a Position to deny Red Passage.....

Obj 277, got it yesterday, played a couple of games and sold it, Not worth it, there are better tier 10 heavies, to much module damage, still poor gun depression, tier for tier T-10 is better. IS-7 is more reliable than the 277.

I absolutely hate my IS7. It is the worst tier 10 tank I have played so far. Because tier 10 is 99% gold ammo even the turret isn't thick enough. The number of times I've had HEAT rounds go through the front of the turret when hull down is unreal. Then there are the super HE tanks like Type 5 that the IS7 cannot pen under pretty much any circumstances.

277 is much better for one reason only, 340 pen HEAT ammo as its secondary. That HEAT can contest any armour in the game without problems. IS7 is stuck with 303 pen APCR which is just bounce, bounce, bounce.

I wish I'd gone for the 277. Yes, the armour is a bit weaker but the current meta is all about pen and DPM with little care for armour at all. 277 has ticker turret armour at 290mm compared to IS7's 240mm so is better hull down. 277 does not have a super weak and HUGE lower plate. 277 does not have a pike nose than gets penned unless you face your enemy directly. 277 doesn't have pike nose that gets penned from the side. 277 has higher DPM. 277 has even more mobility than the IS7 too!

All in all 277 is like an IS7 on steroids without the weak points...

In a full tX battle I feel safer in the IS7 than in the 277. 277 can really be wreaked fast, when IS7 has lots of magic bounces, especially on the sides.
