I know that most of players by now are playing the japan heavy line only to snowball in other peoples faces.. but why do you keep letting those *edit tanks be a a part of this great game? Is there a particurlar reason that you are not nerfing these things? I mean what the actual heck. They are overpowered as hell! the tier 7 o ni can destroy easily tier 8 tanks and not be touched! Let alone the type 4-5 JOKE. Do something.

The problem is the derp guns on them also have pretty good muzzle velocity, so you can snipe light tanks and meds on the move.

Also, premium HE.

What disadvantage does premium HE have over the regular HE?

There is a good difference between HEAT and AP and APCR, but when you have two kinds of ammo and one is just 100x better at a higher credit cost it's just infuriating.

They should remove the premium HE and nerf the muzzle velocity to like 500. Also Type 5 needs a weakspot for tier 8 tanks to pen without gold.

Isn't it obvious?

To frustrate enemies to buy preiums shells. What else could it be?

(besides make bad players feel good when playing them)

O-Ni is OP? Tbh the O-Ni is forgiving if you face bad players. But that's about it. Most use the tier 6 derp on it since the AP guns are terrible more so then not. Tier 8 did not even have gold ammo on it's old AP gun. So imagine how fun 215 AP pen was vs tier X armor? Thus why most went derp. As that derp vs well armored HT's like the VK 100.01 or the VK B etc won't do much. And if you can't beat a tier 7 HT in your tier 8 HT that does 200 damage to you more so then not every 15 seconds. You got bigger issues.

Most just park on it's side and hide under the gun while they kill it. It's no Defender, and you hardly see one carrying the game. It's worse off then the Tiger P IMO. Type 4/5 is a different issue. But on tier 8 and down? Besides the tier 6, they are all rather bad IMO.

I partly agree on frontal weak spots in general, but given these Derpzillas reload time and speed it would turn them into redline campers as their only strengh (frontal nigh invulnerability to non-tds) would be missing.

Checking the armor of the Type 5 vs the worst pen of any fully upgraded tank on tier 8 (T69) - 181 AP pen - on tanks.gg I noticed a 14% chance of penning the cupola if hit at the right spot, but a roughly 75% chance of penning the soft sides and the [edited].

My take on them is usually to take down their support - or draw their support out so they are left behind. JHeavies are only good in either town maps and mostly if they got others to accompany them. They are however the bane of every team where noone is willing to sacrifice part of their health to catch that one shell (or bait it) - then rush in and kill it (sidehugging recommended).

As I said, weak tanks with one trick only - sadly random teams rarely play fallback games at all - its usually just slaughter in front of a reloading derp gun.

Aside from me sucking at playing with DERP guns, the AP guns on all of the Japanese excluding O-I are far better than HE guns. You have more chance to penetrate with Armor Piercing variants and would do more damage than just splashing your opponent with the derp, thus you fire much quicker. O-Ho with the DERP is a freaking beast, but if you mount the 10cm on it, It's a motherfreaking beast! I'm still getting my hopes up for making the top gun on the O-Ho Type 4's stock 127mm gun!

2.5k games failed up to tier 9.

Other players who didn't rush tiers know how to handle them. Clearly a l2p issue.

You can do this to every superheavy.

Or an attempt to get older players (like 60+) and really young players (maybe under 5) to play the game?

A good plan, but what do you do when you face 12-14 Type5s (clan Advances)?

2. Actually, premium HE isn't really all that good. The difference is noticeable but its not ground-breaking. What about the premium ammo of T62A with 330 pen compared to the 264 pen of standard ammo. Isn't that more extreme?

3. And? Even arty can hit lights and meds on the move with a well timed shot.

But the Type 5 still does more damage ( often also multiple internal hits ) when it doesn't pen.

When a 330 pen HEAT doesn't pen it does nothing but i have to agree that 330 pen on russian tanks from tier 8 above is a bit overkill. No med up to tier 10 of any nation should have more than 300 pen.

Shell velocity on the japanese derps has to go down to Sheridan derpgun levels.

None of Japanese heavy tanks are OP if you know the weak spots. I found Japanese heavy tanks to be frustrated to play as anybody with some brain can pen me.

The only thing good about them is their guns so you can trade shots with 100%.

Japanese heavy tanks don't have weakspots.

250mm is not a weakspot.

You just shoot premium ammo and pen them, since they lack weakspots.

Japanese heavy line is probably the most unnecesary and stupid tank line in the game. I grinded Type 5 heavy myself, but that was before all the buffs it received, and it was considered on of the worst tier X heavies - but I just liked the look of that tank :D .

Then Type 5 got overbuffed and instead of trying to buff 14 cm gun, they just gave it .... naval derp. They could easily buff 14 cm boomstick - slighty increase standart pene and increase pene of gold ammo so it would match pene of let's say maus, slightly improve overall gun stats, gun handling and accuracy, and you would have decent tier X heavy, something like a japanese version of Maus, with 600 alpha damage.

About lower tiers.

O-I - If I am in tank with pene lower than 170 I just load gold.

O-NI - If I am in tank with pene lower than 200 I goldspam this ....

O-HO - If I am in same tier tank, it's usually not problem to pen it to turret.

I feel no shame to goldspam O-I and O-NI, when I am in same tier tank against them.

Here is example why - let's say I play my churchill mark VII and I meet O-I. He can derp me into face, but I on the other hand have perhaps 50/50 to pen it. Then I decide to play IS-2 with 175 pene and enemy top tier heavy is O-NI. He can just derp me into face, and I have no chance to pen him with 175 pene, and with 10 seconds reload I cant waste even one shot against this joke of a tank, while he could just wait behind a corner, and then derp me again with no aiming whatsoever.

KV-2 can derp me, but KV-2 has almost no armor. Japanese heavies are like terminators. They just can drive around derping people. And you cant shoot them back, unless you are higher tier tank with enough pene.

I don't like japanese heavies, but that doesn't mean I don't play my Type 5 from time to time. Type 5 is stupid, gold HE with more damage is even more stupid, but while I can dissagree with something, that doesnt mean I can't play it, because everyone can grind these tanks and play them. Type 5 is fun, good anti-stress tank during bot weekends, and good tank for HT personal missions.

*cough* History would like to have a word with you:

http://www.navweaps....AP_6-45_EOC.php

Which means that it should be reduced from 850m/s down to 825m/s, which would barely be noticable in-game.

(I think they grabbed the muzzle velocity of the 15cm/50 41st Year Type instead.)

Oh, and as you can see on the linked page; it had an AP shell as well.

WG, where's our 15cm AP shell?

Still though, a gun that's 45 calibres in length shouldn't get muzzle velocities of a gun half that length.

Well how many stats did they neuter / "balance" for gameplay reasons? Just as the Italian line has auto-reloaders the Japanese heavy line is a line of derps, made by derps for derps with an AP gun as option. Having both on the 15cm would probably make it too broken for balance.
