Playing mostly in this days to try to grind some tanks and let me tell you guys something, what a torture playing these tanks from stock.

p.43 bis-sllugish for a med

wz-111-1g-ft- the mobility- t 95 turns better...

is-m- the pen

amx 65 t- this tank deserve a honor mention because even top, omg what a piece of crap not to say anouther word.

Plus adding the good MM that tier 8 as in this days and that you need to roll the dice to win, yeah.

This combination is bad.

What about you guys, your experience in your lately grinding tanks?

You need to run food consumables :coin: on some tanks and also have very good crews in order to make tank better, but in other words, some tanks really need buffs and others are a bit OP.

Also, if you happen to have lags like i do, this would make your tank way worse than it should be, and here comes the frustration... :child:

p.43 bis-sllugish for a med - some mediums are slower than heavies, and some HT faster than other mediums.

wz-111-1g-ft- the mobility- t 95 turns better...  havent played them yet but i think wz-111 is a very good tank

is-m- the pen - thats why we have gold ammo. Do u propose all the tanks to have the same standard ammo penetration ?

amx 65 t- this tank deserve a honor mention because even top, omg what a piece of crap not to say anouther word. - This one is really pain in the ***, the main reason is that the tank is very bad when its bottom tier, and that happens most of the time thanks to our blessed matchmaker 3-5-7 :D

P.43 bis aint that bad good pen good dmg only problem is it aint a sniper.they move better when you have  a decent crew.

wz-111-1-g-ft dont know but a good driver will make the difference

Ism the pen aint that good 212 on the top gun but yeah its tier 8 start to learn to use what ammo on which type(+its verry cheap tank xp wise 58k to unlock?)

but could advise some free xp to unlock the second turret and gun

Dont have any French tanks but i dont see that one to often because the reason you mentioned

The main problem with the P. 43 bis is not the sluggishness, but the bad stock gun. As soon as you have the big gun, the tank is usable.

I always save up FXP for guns or tracks so the grind is easier. Never spend it on skipping IMO.

Also if a grind is too painful then just play the daily bonus and get on with your life in the meantime. You'll grind up quicker than you'll realise.

This ^^. Depending on the tank I will play stock up to T5/6, since some have ok stock guns or even derp guns that help the grind. Having a decent (2+ skills) crew and food does help a rough grind too (but can be expensive, so buy loads of food when they are 50% discount). And if it is still horrible and you have the patience, then just do the daily doubles. Took me a couple of months to clear the T20 grind, but since I only did 1-3 games every day I never really got frustrated with it.

Almost in complete agreement, except for the WZ FT. While I didn't find a really viable playstyle, at least that tank does not have to fear any tier X as the guns are really great :)

I spend xp to fully upgrade a tank except the radio, then play x2 until I either get past it, or rage upgrade.

IS-M : same, gun is a deception. I stopped grinding is because the line doesn't seem great.

I stopped grinding the St Emil, it was too atrocious.

The Tiger II : hoped while grinding it will have decent mobility ... but even with the best engine I feel sluggish. Still have to unlock the best gun. I cheat with some gold meanwhile.

I have to grind the ST-I : how is that one stock ?

ST-I is not that bad, provided you already have the BL-9 unlocked. The stock turret is unreliable, but will bounce some stuff if you don't give the enemy the chance to aim well. Once you have the top turret everything start to get better.

Meds are generally pain if you dont like to play those. (I don't). So, if the med is not particularly good, then its a pain by definition. I hope that t8 Italian med will be better then what I have seen so far.

wz-111-1g-ft- the mobility- t 95 turns better...

It is not that bad. It is slow, but it has decent armor and it packs a good punch. Yes, it is slow.

is-m- the pen

You just get to learn to use strong points of this tank - its armor and shifted turret. It is one of the best tier 8s I think.

In general, many branches have a black sheep, jsut to make you pay for the good ones.

With top gun it is not that bad. Emil has very good angle of gun when you peek over the ridge. And what comes next - is the prize.

Personally,  I prefer the Emil to the Borsig.

I'm on the Progetto Standard B. And its an absolute joy to play. One of the best tier 9's in the game. Helps to always make sure you have enough free xp to upgrade the most important modules immidiately upon aquiring any new tank.

Can't remember how many years ago I weren't able to do that to skip grinding stock tanks...

You do know that 'torture' can't be self-inflicted, right?  I think I've told you a million times not to exaggerate.  What you have experienced is 'annoyance' not 'torture'.

Here are actual honorable mentions:

IS - I don't know how you missed that. The stock gun was awful and unlike the top gun, you had to aim for weak-spots almost on every heavy tank.

Sturer Emil - The name is enough. Everyone knows. 61k for the top gun.

The worst grinds are the higher tier ones. Usually tier 8-9, with stock guns, that take forever to upgrade. T28 is particulary bad. The worst grind I encountered was ARL V39. Nope, that tank makes you cry, it was the first time I quit the game for a long time. Sold it, then bought it again later, then resumed the grind fairly recent. Now I'm at Foch and I can say it was worth it as now I can actually help the team.

i m just playing mostly the daily to try to get  the win but that is getting very hard. Playing stock and always down in this amazing MM. NOPE.

But its what it is.

What doesnt kill you, makes you stronger.

The grind is, and always has been, part of the game.

But I do understand that once you have reached a certain level, going back to lower tiers to start a new line, can seem like a drag. What happens is that you get comfortable reaching say T8 on 3 or 4 lines and playing those tanks a lot. Then you decide to start another line or nation, and you are back down at T3/4, and you no longer feel comfortable. You start feeling impatiant, you want to get that T8 as quickly as possible, because you know you will enjoy it. If you dont have the spare Free XP, you know you have to work through each tank, researching the modules, or at least those that open up the next tank, and that takes time and effort. Some people can enjoy that and make the most of the grind, and others cant and so to them it becomes a real chore.

I have the tier X, the IS-m, 705 and 705a are nice tanks. Just need to be plaayed properly.

HINT: Despite your "armour" and big boom stick you are NOT a frontline tank.
