Are you saying that in 88 battles you have not touched the mouse?

There are a number of in built tutorials that will help you move and fire. Have a look in the game client.

My advice is when some johnny pings attn to, pay no attn to it, it's just the deluded players who think they're general of the random games. ;)

To answer your question you have to press your 'Z' key (I guess it is, I'm not using a qwerty keyboard) so you can select some messages you can intercat with. If you want to ping the map just hold "ctrl" and then your mouse's pointer appears.

The function keys (F1-F8) send the same messages without the selection wheel.

Press and hold Ctrl to show mouse pointer arrow, and you can 'ping' a square of the map. Same key allows you to select the chat line and type a message. Hover over player names in the roster to ask or accept toon invitations, right click for other functions, like report. Not crucial to the game, but it's there.

Well, I often ping the map once or twice (no more!) at the start, to let the team know where I intend going. If they choose to come with me, or support me, that's entirely up to them. If, after a few seconds, it appears I'm going to be on my own, I may change my mind.

But compulsive map spammers, I agree, are an annoyance, which is best ignored and/or blocked!

OP - Have a look in the settings menu - Under "controls" it will show you what keys and mouse buttons the various functions are bound to. Most of them can be re-assigned to suit. Being left-handed, I have changed nearly all of mine. :)

No offence but at 110 battles I wouldn't be trying to tell your team where on the map they should be aware of.

The only button you should need is F7 ;)

When you start playing a new game, you should always check the settings and controls first.

The "attention" thing has its greatest use in trolling people who are underperforming in battle.

I just love people who have a need to show superiority by belittling other people.

I thought it meant don't go there so I've been not going there.  I mean, people ping opposite sides of the map, they ping the Beach on Overlord, they ping the middle of the lake on Lakeville.  Expecting anyone to know what you mean by pinging the map is just ridiculous.

Yes Homer, you're probably right most of the time, but sometimes I get an "affirmative" acknowledgement, and when I move off, hopefully my intention becomes plainer. If it works, all well and good, if not, then no great harm done. Unfortunately, my typing skills are not good enough to provide a more detailed statement of intent in the few seconds available!  :)

Not getting at you, it's the system that is rubbish.  How hard would it be to add a context menu to the minimap?  So you click, then select from half a dozen commands.  At the same time they could fix the spam protection.
