Not an arty whine (much) but how about NO arty on Himmelsdorf? It helps nobody on on this map. Arty can do bugger all and each team is 3 players down. " mins programming time and the world is so much better you'd even give Theresa May one.

I love Himmelsdorf when I'm playing arty.  Everyone thinks they are safe when in reality nobody is.

Ensk is a challenge not to get spotted in the first 10 seconds but after that can be fun.

Agreed. I've had some massive scores on Himmelsdorf using an M53/M55.

I'd much rather not meet arty on an open map than a city map! :teethhappy:

Bugger all? Depends on the arty. When I did grind the tier 9 French. I lacked arch to even hit banana road from base. When I did the US tier 9. I had no issues punishing HT on the far end of banana road. Nor do they expect arty to even hit there. Or even the TD lane if you move to the other side of spawn, on both bases. Heck even after your team secures railway you can bully hill or the sides and corridors around the map rather well from the middle of the railway.

I don't get ace level games on those maps. But I've had plenty of 4K combined games there rather often on my recent tier 9 grinds.

City maps should always have *edit, just to make them whine about "bad map design" so everyone else can all have a good laugh at their expense and explain in a condescending manner that bad map design is the standard which affects all maps and classes, not just them during those oh-so-terrible moments when they can't just go into godmode and nuke *edit from the capzone because there's some actual high cover.

KV-2 is awesome arty for Himmelsdorf.  (This is my opinion and is no way representative of the Dingers as a group)

I've played a few in a Bishop on Himmelsdorf. It's possibly at it's most deadly in there. Confined spaces, short map with plenty of direct cover.

You should pop down the chemist and get some cream for that butthurt. Sounds like it's really chafing.

Why does everyone bash the Bishop?

(there's a cream for that too)

So remove artillery from city maps - where there is at least some protection - and redirect all the excess clickers to Prok et al? Nooooooooooooooo thanks. I say make Arty ONLY available on city maps. Bloody cake munching time travellers (the satellite guided target acquisition is a bit wrong for a WW2 game I think).

The camera drone that hovers behind every tank to give you the third person view on your tank is just as wrong for a WW2 game if not even worse (after all, commercial satellites went up in the 1970s but camera drones are post-2000) but oddly enough you forgot to mention that.

Artillery having range of just 1 km and thus having to drive to the frontline to shoot so it can be easily destroyed by the enemy is pretty unrealistic too.

If it were satellite guided it'd be way more accurate. Think less satellite, more radar, and it's entirely appropriate.

Try playing arty like an ambush TD on city maps.

Just stay far enough back from the corners that you don't get proximity spotted.

When it works, the results can be priceless.
