Okay, my EVEN has an (almost) six skills crew. Commander has BIA, Sixth, Recon, Camo, Situational awareness and is at 64% Mentor (this last one is useless, I plan to retrain him using gold).

Now: the EVEN has a base view range of 380 meters. Should I go Binos (as I have atm) or is Coated optics just as effective on the total view range once the commander has all these skills?

I do not know how to calculate this. Help needed. Thanks!

Binos are better than optics for total view range, but only useful for passive scout role. Optics for an active scout. Depends how you like to play your scouts really.

If you're feeling really hipster you could always go with both and then you've got the best of both options.

Depends on your playstyle.

Do you want to play passive, equip binos + Coated Optics.

Do you want to play active, Only use Coeated Optics

With a crew like that I would think Vents, optics and binos...

If you use bino you better use camo net too.

If you use coated optics then use stabilizer.

And vents of course.

Sorry, expressed myself in a clumsy and incoherent way, and that made my question not understandable. It was not about what is more effective as is, but what could be more effective for my particular set up. The math behind the added skills, perks and consumables.

However I found what I needed online right here: http://www.wotinfo.n...camo-calculator

It showed me what I needed to know, and I'll stay with binos to negate enemy camo while I stand still. As my values reads out, with binos I get a view range of 429 while moving and 537 standing still, compared to (with coated) a view range of 472.

So I lose 43 meters from not having coated while moving, but gain 65 meters over coated when stationary. It makes sense to me, then, to keep the binos.

On my EVEN I run food. Crew on full BIA, and commander has everything he needs to increase view range but vents. However I feel that the camo net I keep has saved my sorry a$$ enough times to be worth keeping over vents.

Thank you and you perhaps will not see me on the battle field, while I see you.

Vstab. A necessity for drive-by's.

Belt & suspenders kind of solution.

ok but then you mix passive equipment with vstab : would vents not be a more interesting option ?

I would have thought with a scout you'd want max view range at all times... ie optics.

On the ELC EVEN 90 I would drop binocs and go with vents/optics/vstab. The reasoning behind this is the exceptional camo value on the EVEN allowing it to get closer to the enemies without getting detected. You have to be careful if the opponents also have an EVEN 90 or a pancake.

You can remain hidden stupidly close to the enemy when sporting a net, believe me...

And binos often helps to "burn through" enemy camo, or that is at least my gut feeling and experience.

I don't have as much skills on my crew as you but i'm running vstab, vents and optics. Full camo on the crew sat in a bush like the field on Malinovka and a tank has to be in proxy range to spot you. I am adapting my playstyle depending on the situation but more often than not i am very close to the enemy team ( less than 300m) that optics are more than enough to spot most players who aren't double bushing but i play the Even 90 mainly semi-active. Passive on maps like Mali, Prokh and active in endgame and moving a lot on corridor maps. The size of it allows a bush-to-bush approach where you can use bushes the size of a table to conceal yourself.

I would go for vstab/vents/optics for sure. if you look at the current maps, only open maps give use for binos so you will be able to get more assist damage with optics. also you can't rely on your team to do the damage to win, so you need to do damage yourself as well. the vstab and vents will help on that.

I chose: coated optics, vents and camo net, for improved troll spotting.

I could also use vertical stabs since i have a stash of them in my depot, but not worth it in this tank in my opinion...

the clip potencial is so bad, the gun handling and dpm is so bad anyway, that i find more productive to have something that enhances the best feature of the tank.

this will make your cash and xp income more vulnerable, since most maps are too small.

I tried to switch the equipment and had a go at the so much suggested vstab/coated/vents.

I am back to vstab/net/binos... I might try vstab/vent/binos, but I really feel that binos trump coated. The extra oompf in view range often helps spotting it seems. Well, to me at least. And the camo rating standing still skyrockets from 22.12 to 32.12 when using a net. I have hid in plain sight on Airfield on quite a few occasions...

I run vents/vstab/optics on mine, but thats because I hate standing still and I run around doing active scouting something the EVEN 90 is quite good at because of its tiny size. and i want to boost my combat effectiveness as much as possible I don't like the idea of being a pure scout and I have a somewhat decent damage per game with it.
