When, how do I tell when Im no longer spotted/being spotted?

What I mean by this is that I hear a lot of people say: "Wait till you are no longer spotted". What are the signs/indicators that Im no longer spotted? (for example once you destroy a tank and have to wait for the last spotting do end)

1 vs 1 situation wait till the enemy is no longer spotted (~10s.), if there is more enemies take a good guess.

It's mostly guesswork and experience. Similar to what is written above, an enemy that went back into cover can be a good indicator. If he is no longer spotted, chances are high that you aren't spotted anymore, either.
Or when enemies stop pointing their guns at your position/cover.

When they stop taking big chunks out of your tank.

If your 6th sense goes off again you had gone unspotted, but now you are spotted again so back to square one.

Other than that it's a matter of making an educated guess but there is no way to be 100% certain, even in a 1v1 and the other guy goes unspotted he could have a view on one of your spotting points while all of his are hidden from you.
