I've been playing WoT for some years now. however because of the ubiquitous racism (among other issues) I quit for nearly 2 years. Early July I decided to come back however to my surprise I still frequently experience racist remarks for literally no reason..it really has made this game distasteful. (its not just one person) take a look at this example of a player named [removed] part of the [removed] clan...I know wargaming cant eradicate all racism/offensive language from their game but I do hope that members of WoT start respecting each other. What are your thoughts on this? (especially if you're a non European playing on the EU server)

Idiots & haters keep hating... ignore. You would also want to remove the name of said person from your post and your screenshots, it will just bring you a warning in forum.

First thing I think is that you said something in the 21 seconds between screenshot 2 and 3. And you are only showing us his response, that is what I think.

I literally said nothing..i understand it seems really strange he would randomly attack me. at the start of the game I was talking about how its my first game in Lowe and he sarcastically said 'good', obviously no harm done. after he died he started attacking me for NO REASON. you can PM any of the other players in my team (if they respond) and they will tell you the same. also why would I be lying? I would rather have fun and play WoT instead of this *edit but im tired of it

just to add, I took the screenshots of the messages he sent after I died, thus the timer on the top right of the screen is meaningless

Racism, homophobia, hatred, politically extreme, outrageous, offensive....  this is a lot of peoples' default setting when they don't have to accept responsibility for their output.  If you are offended by this, it's probably best that you avoid all games and all social media and the internet in general.
It's unacceptable, but it's where we are at the moment.

Why not turn off chat, if it affects you so much, Yes, it shouldn't be present and WG do ban people who get reported for such incidents. It's nearly impossible to police such things as there are so many players and so many games played everyday. TBH, I don't see much of what you claim to see in game that would cause someone to leave the game for two years.

Considering that in the picture you posted, the guy although using racist language really got it wrong regarding your nationality. so why do you get upset for someone else?

Just report and move on.

problem is this "you´d better ignore it attitude" does not lead to better situation. if these kind of [edited]holes does not recive their proper ban punishment (as they would in IRL), wich is saddly not WG´s policy, the situation will not get better.

hence the general toxicity of WoT as it is directly related to WGs inactivity.

first it was 'you're a liar!'....now that ive proved it ill get the 'shut up snowflake' - all im asking is that people respect each other a bit more on WoT, not for a total revision of the internet xd

I'm all for freedom of speech, don't care about your feelings and we shouldn't sacrifice freedom of speech to make you feel better.

"well how does not playing for two years fix the issue" - this kind of attitude normalises the ethnocentrism that is prevalent to WoT. 'If you don't like it go away!' - soo you'll have a significant reduction on the servers. again all I am saying is please respect each other a bit more, don't be vile :)

you cant, they have specificly removed the option to report chat missbehavior in any way to the game support, and if you circumvent the support tool in any way they point you to the ingame report function wich as we all now leads to nothing.

just have had the situation where i was trying to report someone for 50 lines of insults, profanity and racism towards me in one of the rare moments garage chat function actually worked - because i dared to kill him :P...

and was completly denied by the support as chat issues are only dealt with via the ingame report function wich doesent work for the garage chat wich doesent matter as the report function is ignored anyway.
