Imagine a scenario where tomorrow WG announced that it had dissolved due to a dwindling player base and financial loss. In this scenario, would you thing WG deserved this outcome (i.e. that their business practice and decisions deserved to die/collapse), or that it was not deserved, and why.

The game is good. Could be better, but nothing is perfect.

No. Bottom line, the core of this game is brilliant, for all the frustration it is still one of the best games I have ever played. I have invested too much time and money into this game. I would be gutted if WoT shut down.

They have made so many mistakes the last two years but there is always time for redemption. 3/5/7 debacle, badly designed corridor HD maps with stupid soapy rocks, badly balanced vehicles, premium ammo spam. All these things can be fixed.

Hopefully dwindling playerbase and sales will wake WG up to fix the major problems...maybe :sceptic:

My currently response would be to point and laugh as it will be "I told you so"

However, even though I'm not playing, I would be disappointed in seeing a game I really used to love go to shlt.  I truly believe WG have hired former SOE employees and that mentality has crossed over...  I also feel someone would buy the IP off them and continue the game in a monetised way (cryptic/Daybreak games)

Justice? Not really.

They deserve a big slap, but they don't deserve a collapse. The only situation where they would deserve to collapse would be if a good competitor arrived and they refused/failed to compete.

They created a new genre and still have the most popular game in it, even though the number of games in the genre is extremely low. They made plenty of mistakes and they refused (and still refuse) to fix the brutal atrocities in the initial design of the game (such as massive RNG, arty, gold ammo). That's why they deserve a big slap.

Well of course it would be deserved. As it happened. And if it's deserved then I have to say that it would be just.

So yes.

But not a malicious kinda yes.

Because it would suck.

Working an environment that relies on customer satisfaction, I can confirm with some authority that WG have no clue what they are doing.

They have created a great game, this has resulted in a large player base and a steady income. This source of income has subsequently led to them succumbing to a primitive urge called greed, which has led to poor customer satisfaction and ultimately to the player base dwindling.

They will realize this sooner or later....

sure, because they dont respect there customers, all they did is playing "the angry customers game" and ask each 1-2 day for more money. I dont care when something like this happens. Its just a game and for me they deserved it.

And from 1 to another day, it would not be possible. Because a company has to announce 4 months ago.

Only one thing will happen today, thread closed.

I voted no.

"deserved" is a very problematic word in your question.

No, not the entire company, the ones that deserve it is the ones that mismanaged it to this extent as well as their marketing division, especially since they are not EA, they don't put out game after game that people will buy regardless of how shite EA treats them, WG have WoT which have a decent sized player base and that's about it, all other attempts of making games have not exactly ended up in commercial successes.

Their actions over the years show that it's quite clear that they have little clue in what direction the actually want to go or what to do, as soon as the "fix" something they break two new things and that's been the case for so long now that they find themselves in a downwards spiral, with trust dwindling away day by day they are making it harder and harder to stabilize anything.

Like with any MMO I've played before I put money into that suddenly was to close. I would most likely say "I got my money's worth" and leave it at that. As if you put an average price pr hour played on most of my premiums that I paid for. They would all be way way cheaper then any €60 game you played for 8 hours and never play again.

As regardless of the state of the game now. I've got my value and time well spent the past few years either way. As if you can't even say that after 4 or even 6 years on some, with all the metas past. Why are you still here?

No company is perfect, no game is perfect but this one is pretty awesome !

No, I would not feel any kind of "vindication".

Well I have studied statistics and this is not a bias poll. He has given no incentive to answer yes
